The solid cedar top guitar from Antonio Hermosa goes back to these early models to bring you the quality and craftsmanship that appealed to Spain's 19th Century composers. The solid cedar top is a necessity for a highly resonant classical guitar, a warm, clean tonewood that some believe improves with age. This model comes has a narrower fretboard, making it ideal for players with small hands or those who desire the sound of a classical with the feel of a steel-string. It has mahogany back, sides, and neck, 3-ply top purfling, maple binding, and gold-plated tuners. This is a great hand-crafted performance model.

Amazing value!
I purchased the Antonio Hermosa Classical Guitar (Mod, AH-10 NF)which features a solid cedar top and a fretboard which is narrower than that found on most classical guitars. When the guitar arrived. I was concerned because the corner of the outside packaging had a crushed corner. As it turned out the inner box was unharmed and the guitar was in perfect shape. A sticker on the back of the neck indicates that the guitar is manufactured in China. I had some misgivings about this, but when I tuned the instrument, I was astonished by the beauty of the build and the rich tone of the guitar. The guitar's action is magnificent. The set-up from the factory is near-perfect and the narrower neck (nut width is 1 7/8") makes the guitar feel like a steel-string with a much softer touch. I have owned several classical guitars over the last 50 years, although none of them has been custom made by hand. I love this guitar! I am completely satisfied with its quality and build. It would be magnificent as a student or intermediate guitar and the only reason I can find that anyone might want to replace it with a custom model is snobbery. If you want a prettier guitar, buy the AH-20 model--which is available on some websites for less than $20 more (although I believe it is only available with the standard 2" nut width). It can be found here: [...] I have not found another classical guitar anywhere that delivers so much value for the money!Max E. LoudenbackNew Castle, IN

Antonio Hermosa AH-10 NF
I was very excited to find this guitar. It had the narrow fretboard to ease the transition from acoustic guitar, the price was right (as a college student I can't be buying top-notch stuff), and the quality looked great for the price. I love the mahogany back and sides, and it was just a beautiful guitar overall. However, trouble abounded with this guitar. The first time I ordered it I opened it up to see it cracked on both the front and back due to very poor packaging. But I was overall still impressed with the quality, so I shipped it back to get a replacement. The second guitar I received looked great, although the strings were pretty bad. I had the guitar professionally restrung with higher quality medium tension nylon strings, and the guitar played beautifully for about a week. Then out of the blue the entire bridge completely snapped off. (It wasn't being played or tuned, and it was just sitting on a stand). Upon closer inspection I was able to see that the bridge was very poorly glued to the guitar, with nothing else to anchor it but the glue. I'm just glad I wasn't playing when it happened, that would have left a mark.I really wanted to like this guitar. I am an amateur player and this was my first classical guitar, and I still think it is a beautiful guitar that had a nice sound. It was constructed in China which may account for its sub-par construction, but now I'm forced to return it and start the search for something else. I'd caution to buy this guitar at your own risk.

Bought 2
Bought 2 of these.. one for me and another as a gift. They shipped from two different locations.. mine from Phoenix, and the gift from Tennessee.. That wouldn't and shouldn't normally be a big deal, but the gift spent several days touring.. 2 days in Nashville and 2 days in Memphis before it moved on.. that and the fact that the one sent to me weighed a couple pounds more. had me concerned.. When I got mine, it was a box within a bigger box, and it was in perfect condition.. The gift was sent in just the inner box, and by the time it got there (after all it's messing around in TN) the box had a hole, and the guitar a matching hole.. I have ordered a replacement, and I am certain it will work out.. All that said, MY guitar is nice and am pretty happy with it.. The previous review about muscle memory and switching between this and steel string width, was the convincer.. It sounds nice, and looks better than the pictures IMHO (the tuning pegs are really nice).. am going with the stock strings for awhile, and they sound good good and stay in tune well. I have also ordered some others strings from a couple different manufacturers to try after these wear, to see what I like best. Am giving it a good review based on my guitar.. Once the dust settles I am sure there will be a review on the replacement as well.Update.. replacement for second guitar all went through fine.. After owning mine for awhile, I am pretty satisfied. Strings are holding up well, but I am considering installing a new set.. It may just be inherent in nylon string guitars (I don't know), but I find that the transition between the steel strings and the nylon with this set are not quite to my liking.. I have a set of Ernie Ball Clear and Silver, as well as some D'Addaro which is what came with the guitar. The Ball steels of the nylon set look to be lighter, so am going to try that experiment (soon), If it turns out bad, then I have a set to get back to stock... (updated update :).. The Ernie Ball strings are more to my liking. Now my C Chord blends better (at least that's what it seems to beginner me).. Since I have stuck to practicing, going to soon reward myself to a steel string acoustic/electric.

A little disapointed after reading such good reviews, The bass strings all "buzz" due to the nut being far too low,,and the saddle is way too high,, neck has a little more bow than it should,, AND,, what happened to the " Thin Neck??? " Damn near 2" like any classical guitar! Might be a sixteenth under 2 inches ! Sound is very tinny,,may be because of the very Heavy finish on it. Just came in today,, I am tempted to send it back,, I guess I will have to sleep on it, and see how I feel tomorrow. Not sure if I want to be bothered with making a new nut and saddle,
