Al mio pastore maremmano sono cresciute troppo le unghie, da giorni pensavo che andavano decisamente tagliate. Dopo aver guardato in internet un paio di tutorial che spiegano come effettuare questa semplice, ma delicata operazione, ho ritenuto che, con lo strumento giusto, sarei stata in grado di cimentarmi nell'impresa senza disturbare il veterinario. Le recensioni a questo trimmer mi hanno rassicurato, e ieri ho proceduto all'ordine. Il pacco è arrivato oggi, puntualissimo e integro, al punto di ritiro da me scelto. Inizialmente mi sembrava che mancasse la lima, della quale in alcune recensioni veniva segnalata l'assenza. Ma alla fine l'ho trovata: è inserita in fondo al manico, si vede una leggera sporgenza nera, basta tirarla per estrarla. Non è spiegato in modo chiarissimo nella confezione, forse è per questo che alcuni recensori non l'hanno trovata. Seguendo i consigli raccolti in internet, ho passato un po' di tempo a far annusare al mio pelosone di 50 kg lo strumento, perché ci prendesse confidenza. Data la mole del quattrozampe e la sua istintiva diffidenza nei confronti delle novità, l'operazione di taglio ha comunque richiesto l'intervento di mio marito, che lo tranquillizzava e gli teneva la zampa mentre io procedevo al taglio degli unghioni. Per evitare di provocare dolore e sanguinamenti che avrebbero traumatizzato sia il cane che me, sono stata molto attenta a tagliare al di sotto del punto rosaceo dell'unghia, avendo appreso dai tutorial che lì scorre un vaso capillare che non va toccato. Fortunatamente nelle unghie del mio cane tale punto è ben visibile. Inizialmente temevo che l'attrezzo non fosse grande abbastanza, invece va benissimo e ci è voluto poco per prendere pratica. Nonostante lo spessore delle unghie, la lama ha fatto egregiamente il suo lavoro: è stato sufficiente fare un po' di pressione per ottenere un taglio rapido e netto. Ad ogni taglio ho fatto seguire grandi complimenti e un piccolo premio gustoso, così, unghia dopo unghia, il mio peloso ha preso tutta la faccenda come un simpatico nuovo gioco e l'operazione si è conclusa velocemente e senza traumi, cosa che mi fa sperare che il cagnolone si presterà senza troppe storie anche alla sua prossima "zampacure". Prodotto quindi promosso su tutti i fronti, sono soddisfattissima e lo consiglio.

My 16 year old whippet would never leave me trim his nails, instead I have to take him to the groomers just for nails! It cost me $18 each time, it adds up. He has had sone health issues and he is quite skinny at the moment and he needed a trim, but I was a bit too conscious about the looks at him he would get there, where they know him, he is doing treat considering a week ago I thought he was going to leave us anytime. This situation prompted me to purchase this cutter. Today my son held him and I used the clippers on him. The attachment at the back helped me enormously to gauge myself and I cut all 10 front ones and a couple from the hind legs. One of them bled a tad, but after applying some corn flour it stopped. Nice and sharp, easy to go through his tough nails, some needed a bit more pressure though. Overall, I’m thrilled with the purchase!

Je n’ai jamais osé couper les griffes noires de mon York de peur de le blesser. Mais il atteint presque 17 ans et ne sort que très difficilement en raison de rhumatismes. Je ne peux donc plus l’emmener chez une toiletteuse et la visite annuelle chez le vétérinaire n‘est plus suffisante pour entretenir ses griffes. J’ai choisi ce modèle car il m’a semblé puissant mais aussi protecteur pour la pulpe si peu visible dans une griffe noire et il remplit parfaitement son office : il n’écrase pas la griffe et le système de butée est rassurant pour moi. Très satisfaite donc.

Nice little clippers, bought as a replacement for an old set so I could have a new sharp set for my ancient rabbit needing a trim. He's an incredibly old eldritch beast of a rabbit and feels very birdboned so I tend to prefer to be very gentle when handling him which luckily he is more than happy to tolerate. The blades are sharp, the mechanism is smooth when you squeeze and you get a nice quick chop out of it with good control so I'm glad we bought these. They do have a quick guard to control the amount you trim but we have not needed it as our cryptid's nails grow very fast and I always need to take off a little more than the guard allows and I tend to go for speed doing these jobs (luckily for me his claws are all white/clear enough to see the quick) but it does just slide out of the way easily when you're not using it so that's great. We got the smaller size as rabbit claws aren't known to be super chunky but I reckon it would work well for most small/medium dog breeds as well, honestly. Good value for money, sturdy, thick comfortable handle with good grip but not so chunky you can't maneuver when needed. Fastest nail trim session in a while. Eldritch beast approved.
