FastTrack Bass Method - Book 2 (FastTrack Music Instruction)

Primer 2 - Excellent Instruction Manual for the Novice
Primer 2 is a wonderful follow-up to level 1. I gained a lot of knowledge and feel confident that my understanding of how music works has increased profoundly. But not only did I learn to really read music, the book helped me play my bass. It is such a bargain for those who are serious about learning how to play bass; however, it takes a dedicated pupil who is willing to learn the precepts and to put in the practice time; the book has saved me possibly thousands of dollars which I would have spent on one-to-one bass lessons. It is also good to use as an instruction workbook for those who teach bass to others and a complement to other lesson methods, such as youtube.

Solid Book -- Will Keep in My Library
Appropriate follow-on to book 1. I'm in South Florida, just a little North of Palm Beach. Competent and professional bass teachers in this area are especially limited. So, these books have provided a solid foundation for me--I've played through the 1st book about 4-times at different intervals; my progress is quite noticeable; looking to master book 2. I highly recommend the Fast-track series.

A large step up from book 1
Love book 1 struggling so far with book 2. Much more theory and thinking involved. Also should have done better reading music in book 1. While there is still tab there are quite a few sections so far without tab. Glad I bought it just maybe not quite there yet. Wish there was a book 1.5...

Good Basic Learning Book.
Is a continuation of book 1 with more written music, styles and how to play the bass. For me at least it gives enough information to look further on how to play and get more proficient with the material presented. This instruction book would be best used in conjunction with a teacher and or other materials. The lower ratting is because of the need for computer access for the bass lines .

Good Series.
I'm a Ft. Lauderdale-based music teacher who teaches the classical guitar, double bass and bass guitar. I start my beginner bass students with Book 1 and continue with Book 2. The series are well-written and the lessons flow with good relativity and continuity. I recommend the series.

Bass 2 Book
Shows nothing harmonically interesting . The Keyboard 2 book was good. This book could easily have been part of the basic book 1 . It doesn't get into Tension 9 , dominant 5 approach, arpeggios off the 3ed of a chord or walking very much. The intermediate and advanced approaches are not here . Try Building walking Bass lines by Friedland
