So - if you need different rear wheel - two ways to go - entire new wheel - or just change hub. Entire rear wheel - make sure you are getting one which is 26" and will work with rim brakes. Also axle width important - most likely 135mm on your old bike. Alternative to entire new wheel - buy a suitable new hub - and use it to rebuild old wheel. Maybe get a bike shop to help with this complex job. Next - shifters and derailleur. If old parts are not 9spd, they need to be replaced.
