I use the 1.25" for body and 1" when I want more defined curls. Is the 2 in too big? Should I go** A: A 2 inch curling iron will give your hair some light body in your hair. Similiar to blowing drying it with big round brush. But when I wanted to buy one that had a smaller circumference, I spotted this one. The price was so much lower than ceramic I thought I'd give it a try. I was very pleasantly surprised. It heated much hotter than other metal barrels I have used in the past, and has a decent range of temperatures. I use the middle of the range and it doesn't burn my hair, but gives it a nice firm curl. I use a ceramic on for a 1'" curl on the top of my do, and if I didn't know that one was metal and one was ceramic, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference in their results. Don't think you could go wrong with this one. I give it a two thumbs up. One other note about curling irons, while ceramic is very good, I think the critical element is the ability to be able to set the heat control over a wide range of temperatures to accommodate your specific hair composition.
