Perfect fit!
This Werner replacement latch for the attic ladder door was easy to install. I am not sure how durable it is. Our last one was broken by a careless contractor, although we had used it without problem for 20 years. We access the attic 8-10 times a year because we store holiday items there.

It's the only one available, so you need it
These hatch locks are pretty much the only ones available on the market. They come with a Werner attic ladder but they brake after a while. This is my third one within15 years or so and I only use the ladder a few times a year.This part here is the original Werner replacement part. The first two that broke were also original parts (there is nothing else on the market anyway), but the quality could be better. However when they brake you have no choice but to get the same one again.These new ones are a bit tighter than the older ones so I am rather not optimistic about the lifespan of this but like I said, you have no choice.
