I have a 1,100+ page Anatomy & Physiology hardback book (7-8lbs, 20 inches when opened & about 11 inches tall) and it holds it without a problem. Nice sturdy/wide base that has rubber feet beneath it (even comfortable having it on my legs while sitting in a chair!). Folds nicely and can be packed away easily. The page holders work well also and can easily bend to the thickness of this extreme book. It also does great with my softback Biology textbook and is large enough to keep the book open and pages upright (makes it very nice for highlighting). Has multiple viewing angles and the piece that adjusts holds this heavy book without a problem Only gripe I have is that it is made from particleboard. However, the provider does state this quality about it; apparently they use eco-friendly wood and glue to construct it. Either way, this seemed like a much stronger choice than all of the others available on desertcart (compared to the ones made from real wood) simply because of the wide base, metal hinges & adjustable piece, and that there were two size options. I don't ever do reviews for the products that I buy, but I had a large difficulty finding reviews from other students (esp. medical students with excessively large & heavy textbooks) using these type of products. I hope this is helpful in finding the book stand that is best for your needs! Review: Gets the Job done and looks good doing it - This book stand is perfect for my everyday uses. I use it to prop up text books while working and it is incredibly accommodating. The shelf of the stand is wide enough to house most thick college textbooks and the arms are more than strong enough to keep the pages open. The product feels very sturdy and durable. My one question would be whether or not it is waterproof for those that wish to use the book stand as a cook book stand. As a student I could not be more satisfied with this product. It is also very easy on the eyes. 5 out of 5.

... this bookstand a few days ago and I'm so happy with the quality and functionality
I received this bookstand a few days ago and I'm so happy with the quality and functionality. This is exactly as described and works exactly as I had hoped. It does a terrific job of holding my 2700 page study bible. I haven't yet used the page holder levers because the pages on a bible lay flat - on a standard book with this many pages the levers might be a little hard to navigate but it certainly would hold the book. The stand works nicely while reading at my desk and I was pleasantly surprised that it even works well when placed on my lap when sitting on the sofa. This product is worth the extra money over the lesser priced, and lesser quality options available. Highly recommend this product.

A bookworms delight!
This book stand is just what I have been wanting. I can drink my coffee in the morning and read without having to hold the book open with one hand. The page prongs are sturdy and do an excellent job of holding the pages open. The stand is a nice color and wood. You can adjust the angle of the slant very easily. Also when you want to move to another room you can pick up the stand with the book on it and it won't collapse! I think it is a great product and I am pleased with the entire transaction! Thank you for a quality product.
