Best Umbrella Ever - Hands Down
I never thought I would take the time to rate an umbrella but this one is worth the time!. It is made from the best quality materials. The red color is bold and bright and a true red. The button mechanism works just as easily as it claims. One button with two arrows pictured pointing up or down. And is it fast - both opening and closing. As someone else mentioned - keep your distance as it pops open very quickly but the best part is that it closes the same way. No getting soak fumbling to close it. The frame is so sturdy but yet the umbrella is lightweight and compact. It will be great for traveling. Even the little detail in the shape of the handle makes a nice difference as you hold it. Another good feature is that 'useless little sleeve' that they give you to store it in - it's not useless on this one! The umbrella folds up rather slim so it slips right into the case. I am really more than satisfied with this product and would highly recommend.

Built well, covers large area, smart handle
This is a pleasantly high-quality travel umbrella for such a reasonable price. It provides great coverage despite its compact size when folded. The rubberized contoured handle is one of its smartest features; I appreciate its non-slipper grip. The pop-the-button-to-open, pop-to-shut mechanism is conveniently fast, so hardly a drop gets on you when you're getting in or out of a place of shelter. I bought two of these umbrellas and my wife and I were pleased with its protection while standing in line in driving rain waiting for the Metropolitan Museum of Art to open. The coat-check attendant remarked on the sturdy feel of the umbrellas when I claimed them later. I tipped him well.

Singing (the blues) in the rain
Bought this for my trip to London. On arrival, opened and closed it once inside the house to confirm that it worked; seemed fine. In London, at the first rainfall, I got my new brolly out of the suitcase and hit the streets. Opened it up and ..... wait - it didn't open! No matter how hard I tried. I walked into the shop across the street that was selling brollies and the proprietor couldn't open it either. In the end, I had to buy a spur of the moment, cheap product just to stay dry. Exactly the situation I was hoping to avoid. Well, at least the one I bought on the street performed the folding umbrella's basic functions of opening, keeping one dry, and closing. As for this product from Amazon, its impressive superstructure that is supposed to resist gale-force winds was of little help because IT DIDN'T OPEN. Is it possible to give no stars? At least I was able to return the product for a refund when I returned to the states. Small consolation. Lesson, I guess, is to open and close the newly purchased umbrella at least through 2-3 cycles before being fully confident that it will be there for you in the future when needed.

Air out your umbrellas!
First things first: All umbrellas must be aired out after using. No matter how high or low the quality. Metal and cloth cannot be left stewing in damp rainwater over the course of weeks/months without signs of corrosion and mold. Additionally, most of us live in areas where rain comes in a slightly lowered pH to begin with. This umbrella was great while it lasted: a year and half and a dozen or so uses. At least 3x stronger than any drugstore umbrella, highly wind resistant. I found later that the canopy wasn't sewn to all of the ribs perfectly, and after a few blowouts one of the ribs detached. It doesn't invert often, but when it does, reverts back normally without damaging the mechanisms. The umbrella finally broke when a strong gust of wind blew the canopy INWARD so hard that I could barely walk anymore: I closed it in that instant, but the strained mechanisms didn't like being pushed from the outside and simultaneously being closed (my guess). It would no longer open after that.Good umbrella. I'd get it again, except that there are others available for about $20 that have a lifetime warranty.

Good Price, Great Color, and Really Windproof!
This was very reasonably priced and I needed a small umbrella to bring with me during a trip to France in the Spring. I ordered the bright yellow which was a happy, stand-out color that earned me a lot of compliments. Most importantly, however, is that the umbrella really did last through some rain/wind storms as we toured Paris on foot for two days. I couldn't believe it! It's the first 'windproof' umbrella I've owned that hasn't turned inside out!

One of the best Umbrellas you will ever own! Good bang for your buck!
One of the best umbrellas I have bought. It's very compact and super fast to open and close automatically! It really surpassed my expectations!I spent an arm and a leg on my last umbrella $35 loved it but lost it at a Home Show when I tied it tomy pant loop so I could have my hands free to take pics of stuff I saw at the show. Now I can hardly wait for it to start raining so I can take my new umbrella for a full test run!

Very sturdy.
I was looking for a new umbrella since we lost some older ones. Based on the reviews, I got this. It is much sturdier and well built than my other umbrellas. The center rod is not aluminum, and is possibly a carbon composite material. The only drawback is the length. When closed, it is about 13 inches long. This is 1/2 to 1 inch longer than my other umbrellas. This should last a lifetime, as long as we don't lose it.

Don't hesitate
I wasn't expecting much when I bought this umbrella, but damn did it impress me. I love the material, which repels water easily and doesn't stick like other umbrellas. I have no idea how the open up and close mechanism works, but I love it. When you trying to get in the office quickly and your hands are full this can be a life saver. I definitely recommend this item.
