Great scanner
We had a problem with out 2011 Silverado 5.3 and pinned it down to the alcohol % being too high. I am a retired GM Master tech but no longer have access to a Tech 2. After figuring out the problem we ordered the FOXWELL scanner as it's bi-directional and got the job done. The screens were easy to navigate, the data stream worked very well and this scanner was real easy to use. I got this as we already had the regular FOXWELL scanner for my other cars. Great scanner for the money, get it for your GM car or truck, you won't regret buying it.

Great Scan Tool For The Money !!!
I have hesitated writing this review until after I made repairs to my 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali. The front magneride struts went bad on my vehicle and I was told I would need to do a "Trim Height Relearn Procedure after I replaced the struts. This scan tool performed great and completed the relearn in a matter of seconds which made me happy since the dealer wanted more to do the same procedure as this scan cost. I like the display on the Foxwell NT510 Elite which is easy to read and operate. If you can operate a iPhone you can operate this scan tool. The only downside I have with this product is the confusion during setup on should I register or do I need to register or is the unit already registered? Some of the instructions contradict themselves but overall it's a great scan tool for a DIY'er like myself.

This unit will reprogram remotes/key fobs instructions are limited
This did what i needed it to do.. which was reprogram new remotes on my 2013 and 2014 Yukon XL. The tech was gonna charge me $125 which wasn't bad... but this only cost $180.50. I haven't checked out any other features.... I just wanted to reprogram my remotes. It seems nice though... it reads the vehicle info (vin) and worked flawlessly. It did not erase the previous remotes. It wasn't the easiest to find the correct menu, but i found it. It does read codes and a whole host of other things.... but operating it might take a little bit of work

Programs 2005-ish SSR fobs w Chevrolet download. Oh, and, it's now WiFi.
ssrfanatics lists a couple of scanners that work for programming fobs, but in my case, 5+ salvage titles, '03-'06 large parts, most VINS match -- this really works. Chevrolet data (GM, GMC available free as well), modules, special actions(?), program fobs -- you get an instruction page that says you'll get a prompt to hit the unlock/lock fob buttons simultaneously; you don't, but you do need all the fobs (4 max) ready to be programmed (I assume the previous codes are deleted once you program one fob.) Hit continue, select the first fob on the bottom of the screen (defaults on #4,)wait for the automatic lock cycle, then hold the fob buttons whenever you're ready. Locks will cycle but the fob won't work until the key is pulled, probably as well as the scanner. Select 2nd fob; after the last fob, pull key and scanner and *then* test the fob(s.) Of course a neighbor stopped by while I was in the middle of fob#3, to complain about another neighbor we both hate. Half an hour later I picked up where I left off so you have at least that much time between scanner entries. Scannerless generic workarounds will cycle the locks on my car, won't program the remotes, and I believe the cycle confirms some other command you sent. In my case, SSR/Chevy/GM-style, the command was to have the door locks lock and unlock at will. Several times a trip. Pulling the battery, again, will reset this. This car is such a speed bump I'm happy to see it do something. The '23 version of this scanner was microSD for data programming and updates; this one is WiFi. It's June 22 '25 right now and the latest GM/C/GMC updates were May '25 so that's encouraging.

***Cadillac Owners Beware***
Bought this unit after consulting with Foxwell and they assured me that it would do a crankshaft relearn, but found out after returning for a refund from them telling me my model 2008 Cadillac SRX does not have 'relearn' capability. I know that is a bunch of bull because I have a Service Manual that explicitly says to do a relearn on this yr model if you change the crankshaft sensor which I replaced. There was no issue on the refund but I would find it hard to recommend this to anyone with a similar make & model Cadillac. One caveat they (Foxwell) told me that it would do a relearn on a 4.6L but that is bull hockey also as I looked and tried to run it saying I had a 4.6L. Mine is a 3.6L.

Great scanner, good price- did what I asked it to.
Bought this tool for my 2500HD to monitor turbo vane position. It allowed me to cycle the vanes and solenoid, ruling out a bad sensor. This bi-direction tool also allowed me to change the threshold of the tire pressure sensors- allowing lower PSI for load range E tires when not towing, for better comfort- without having the low pressure light come on anymore. Overall, solid purchase.

2008 GMC Yukon SLT 5.3L - ALC CONTENT RESET
Apparently this is the 2nd one I bought. I sent the last one back because the unit seemed slightly used and I had forgotten about that. I bought the regular scanner from FOXWELL because of that, the 310 series or something, and it's been just fine. Fast forward to now 03/28/2026 - I needed one that was bi-directional so I could reset my Alcohol content that was at 59.5% due to the cold climate I'm currently in, and the P-0172 and P-0175 codes that popped up. I changed the air filter, cleaned the mass air flow sensor, changed both O2 sensors upstream, and the coolant temperature sensor also. Then I cleared the codes & reset the alcohol content before starting it up. (I used all AC-DELCO parts) Everything was PERFECT when it started up without the massive choking it had before, and has ran like brand new since. My Yukon was sick and needed help. lol The Foxwell 510 (GMC Specific) worked perfectly...it took a second to figure out the auto vin number, but once I did, everything else fell right into place. If you have the SLT, just push yes on all the questions it asks you, that's just what worked for me. The SLT is pre wired for everything it asked about. So the entire project was about an hour, and that included re-reading the steps to reset confidently. I also reset the fuel trim ratio... forgot about that. Once you're on the list of functions, it only takes a few seconds...you'll see all it does and it's pretty self explanatory, imo. I would definitely recommend this and the other ones they have since both of my Foxwells work and do what I need, and more. Plus they returned the other 510 I got last year without any problems...I honestly never used it because I was turned off from what appeared to be a pre used one. Im weird like that. This one came in a box and everything was in it... and like I said, I'm extremely happy with it because it saved me easily around $500.00 from that repair that would have only taken them seconds to do. The dealer wanted $280 an hour up here in Alaska. I almost called them a bad word, but I was nice about it and just spent the $189 for this 510 unit. ๐

Worked great for years - Until random serious malfunction - Issue resolved
I purchased this device in 2019. The device has worked wonders for several years. Can read and troubleshoot a bunch of different car problems. Even was able to program a new key fob for my Chevrolet Cruze. Well worth the money. However, recently I went to troubleshoot my car and device rebooted a few times before showing signs of a serious malfunction. I communicated back and forth with Foxwell customer reps and after several messages it appears the issue will be resolved soon.
