Prostormer Sump Pump, 1/2HP 2110GPH Sumbersible Water Pump, Portable Electric Pump with Build-in Float Switch for pool draining, Crop Irrigation, Yard and Flooded Cellar

I had this same pump for 8 years, it worked great pumping rainwater and irrigation water out of a sump. When I bought it 8 years ago, it was called a Flotec, but it’s the same identical pump.

The city had a water leak in the alley that kept filling up my sprinkler valve box. The leak last 3 months. So I bought this a set it on a timer to pump out every 2 hours for 15 minutes (it took about 1 1/2 hours for my valve box to fill). My valve box was large enough that it held about 110 gallons of water. It worked great a first but the float on the low level switch would get stuck and the pump would not come on. I would have to go and shake the pump a little to get the float loose so pump would come on. Over all it worked as intended and I did use it for about 3 months straight on a timer. When I took it out I did clean it up and back flush the pump to clean it out and it’s ready for the next time I need it

Used it three times during "break up"... when, in the last few years.... the snow melt, overwhelms the sump room... Very pleased. Easy to use.. So far can recommend ... except for one thing. Have already purchased a pump with a "float" feature. This will be the back up pump. This is a good pump ... if you don't have water sneaking up on you. With the "melt off" being unpredictable... I see the necessity for a "float" feature, should it start in the middle of the night. Were it not for that... this pump would be just fine... Pool, standing water etc... so far can recommend for ease of use, performance and so forth.

I have now owned two of these I thought, possibly the first one just might’ve been defective because I like the size of it and the fact that it had an internal float. I was very wrong. The first one the float pin came off and broke internally and now the second one turned on one time and will not turn on again automatically you have to pull it out turn it off put it back in switch it from manual to automatic. This is an absolute waste of my time it does not at all do what it says. Stay away from it. I would actually give it zero stars, but it won’t let me.

This pump was easy to install and works quietly and efficiently. Unlike the pedestal pumps I had used before, this pump has no trouble being completely submerged. I like the integrated float that does not get in the way, keeping the whole arrangement nicely compact. The only thing I missed was a connector for a regular garden hose, but it was no problem to use a few PVC sprinkler pipe fittings to connect to a regular hose bib.

Pumps OK, but kind of slow. I don't think it pumps at the GPH it claims. the auto shut-off float sticks a lot. Pump will turn on and off some of the time, but sticks in the off position a lot of the time. I have to shake the pump to get the float to move and turn the pump back on. Will work good as a manual turn on turn off pump. But if you're using it in a place that would get damaged if it gets flooded, then you wouldn't want this pump. One time the pump didn't start and the low area in my yard turned into a pond. I had to put on fishing boots and wade through about 1.5 ft water to the pump and shake it to get the pump to turn on. The good thing is it has always auto shut off. Just doesn't always auto turn on.

Not recommended for a sump pit application. (This is the 1/2HP version). First pump I was sent worked fine for a completely flooded basement (it was able to be submerged several feet). But when the water level got down to just the sump pit, the pump would run (the water level was high enough to trigger the auto-float switch) but no water would come out. I cleaned all parts, and noticed that if the discharge hose wasn't attached, water would fly out of the pump, but as soon as the hose was put on, the pump couldn't overcome the pressure to lift the water out of the sump pit. I returned the first purchase thinking this was a lemon (I have the 1HP version of the ProStormer pump and it has worked fine in another basement). The second pump has done the same thing. I'm thinking this is a classic case of the old GPM vs. head pressure marketing shenanigans. The 1/2HP pump can definitely shoot out water with no hose attached, but it can't build enough pressure to actually lift the water. **To be fair, this may just be for my application, where the sump pit only submerges the pump by a few inches. (And I don't mean the pump is only sitting in a few inches of water, I mean the pump is underwater by a few inches).

Due to drain colapse in basement the AC drain was flooding basement. Put in 5 gallon bucket and ran AC drain into bucket. Hooked up garden hose with supplied adapter and ran to different drain. It kicks on hourLy for well over a month to keep up with large amount draining from AC. Was temp fix but due to family emergency and it being super quiet I forgot it. Basement is unfinished and not used much except storage. Went to check and it’s still working perfect.
