Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Micellar Casein Protein Powder, Slow Digesting, Helps Keep You Full, Overnight Muscle Recovery, Chocolate Peanut Butter, 1.87 Pound (Packaging May Vary)

Great product. Great flavour. Will buy again

There was a bugs in my powder. Unfortunately there's no possiblity to upload a photo of ot. Hundreds of small black dead insects, and I used this product for a week, I only noticed it today.

As someone who is incredibly active -- and works long hours -- this protein has been a big life help for me. With a high protein/day target, getting in some extra easy and tasty protein can be a chore when I don't always have the free time to cook large meals. While I have ON Hydro-Whey for my post run / post workout protein needs, I decided I wanted something else for before bed or in between meals as a snack. When people say ON Gold is still the best standard protein -- they are correct. It is fine and mixes very easily. Taste is ideal, neither acidic nor sweet. Tastes great in milk or just in water. Doesn't taste of artificial sweetener or additives. I'm also convinced a nice casein shake before bed helps me sleep. I'll always be coming back for more!

After doing some research on ON Casein, I got what I was expecting- a good tasting protein shake that is a little more thick than my usual whey protein shake. The taste is not bad at all, however it isn't exceptional. It tastes more like chocolate than chocolate peanut butter. I am pleased though with the taste; I would much rather have a nutritionally pure product than one full of artificial flavors/sweeteners. I am also pleased that for a while after drinking the shake, I continued to feel full and didn't need my late night snacks- another reason I bought Casein. Overall a great product and a great value. I will be purchasing again and might try out a different flavor.

This type of protein isn't normally used the same way that whey protein is used, so I wouldn't reccomend it as an everyday use. It's slow acting, so its better used as a nightime snack to help rebuild your muscle fibers during sleep. It's alot thicker than whey proteins, and when mixed with water it has a significant chalky flavor where most proteins usually have a very slight flavor if at all. It is great when mixed in a blender with milk/ yogurt and some ice. It won't hurt to add a little chocolate syrup or a spoonful of peanut butter for some flavor. Overall GREAT product made by a trusted company, but don't buy it for taste alone.
