My 18yr dog Tootsie Roll, is the love of my life. She has been dealing with a collapsed trachea for about two years now. Anytime there was a "flare up" I would give her Salutempet and she would recover. What I didn't know was that it could be used long term. She has been in emergency more than once and had to receive oxygen and sedation to calm down. It was getting worse and worse and I finally paid for xrays that revealed a collapsed trachea in two places. There were times she literally coughed ALL DAY. She also has an enlarged heart that pushes up on her trachea so that makes matters worse. The only time she coughs now is when she is scratching on the carpet to get comfortable to lay down and it is a mild cough. The quiet is MUSIC TO MY EARS and money in my pocket. The emergency vet bills are over. IT'S WORTH EVERY PENNY! It also lasts FOREVER if you have a small dog. Tips for those with a dog with collapsed trachea: 1. If it's summertime, your dog can have an episode that requires emergency attention if they get too hot. I would literally pour water and wet her if we were going outside in the heat and would keep her wet. The heat will bring on an attack. 2. Once the cough is to the point where they are doing it all day, most likely you will find yourself in emergency. Give Salutem Gold morning and night as prescribed RELIGIOUSLY. If something happens and your dog is having an attack, ask your vet for VALIUM, that has worked at times and calmed her down enough. Salutempet starts to work in a few days, not immediate relief. So valium and some vet subscribed cough suppressant can work in the meantime. I hope this helps someone. It's been a journey for me with this but I'm finally at peace. My pup is good now as far as that's concerned. GOOD LUCK!

This is such a great product. I have purchased this at least 4 times or more. My dog has managed to get kennel cough a few times and it has really helped to sooth and reduce the cough. It’s great in between medication doses and it really helped to get me through til I could get him to the vet. I highly recommend for any cold/cough treatment for your fur baby. I always have a full bottle on hand!

This med actually helped reduce my dogs collapsing trachea cough. I give 1ml with 1/2 teaspoon raw Manuka Honey and she stops coughing within minutes and this last for 3-4 hours. Certainly not a cure but it is relief for a while. If your dog is coughing their little lungs out you will be thankful for any relief. For those who may say well it is the honey that is impacting the cough, nope, I gave it first without any honey with these same results. I give her honey because I have to believe she has a sore throat from constant coughing. On top of that she I’ll take the cough meds without fighting me when she gets honey with it. I tasted the medicine and it is not too bad but it does have an odor that my dogs are offended by. All 3 of them. Honey changes that. The dropper doesn’t fill to 1ml even though I am a RN who has given 40 years of meds. I just get the dose by combining the dropper results. I have not noted any leaks from bottle or dropper nor symptoms of n/v, diarrhea or change in energy level. It is a tiny bottle holding 2 ounces or 60ml. Since dogs weighing 10-35 lbs receive 1 ml this will last a while even using it up to 3 times a day but usually only twice a day in between narcotic doses. My vet looks at ingredients with an attitude of if it helps and does not contain any harmful ingredient in a harmful dose, use it. It also allows me to NOT increase the narcotic dose. So, we will continue.

Our tiny chihuahua gets a hacking cough quite often. We used to take him to the vet, they would always give him antibiotics (which worked) We decided to try this cough medicine instead of going to the vet for antibiotics..... It works, it is our go to for him now, we always have it on hand !

The item for cough is spoiled it is gooey and slimy dark in color and smell like it has gone rancid. I would like a refund. I will not jeapodize my dog by using this bottle. I had to order another and the new one was good almost clear in color, didn't smell and was not thick and slimy

This product is okay, it’s all natural and it works for a bit and I have to give my dog a bit more to help him. He loves the flavor of it and knows it’s his medicine to relieve his cough and sneezing. Overall, I am satisfied with it.
