We purchased this because it says that it is an instant read and saw in comments from the company that it only takes a few seconds but we timed ours at 22-26 seconds to get a good read. (We were using a temperature gun and a sous-vide precision cooker so I know that the temperature wasn’t variable or rising.) ### ⭐ Didn’t last (and no warranty) *by P***P on Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2020* This thermometer worked great for a while. But now, alas, it just shows a temperature of about 130 degrees regardless of circumstances. Tried to contact the seller since it is supposed to have a lifetime warranty but has been unable to make contact.UPdate: I finally was able to make contact with Chef Remi. I was told that the company has new owners as of January 2020 and that they don’t honor warranty claims for purchases prior to that date.
