I've always been picky about pencil sharpeners. The handheld ones like this always suck. EXCEPT THIS ONE. It's seriously a game changer. Actually works without breaking off the nib. Easy to empty. Super sharp blade helps a lot! Its size is perfect to hold enough shavings but also is portable. I bought the other handheld sharpener by the same company and it is not as good. This one is the best

Recently, I was excited to enter the world of quality pencils. While I still think I prefer a nice medium point roller ball pen, the artisan nature of a top shelf pencil is attractive. So along with my Mitsubishi, pencils, like a kid going shopping for school supplies, I knew I needed a new and exciting pencil sharpener. This black wing two step long point pencil sharpener is the first two step sharpener I’ve ever used. And while it may seem unnecessary, I did find that it actually worked to produce a sharper point than any other sharpener I’ve used. There’s also a deep satisfaction to watching it first remove the outer wood, and then on stage two refining your point to needle sharpness. The only drawback to the sharpener is that it doesn’t hold a lot of residue before it needs to be dumped. But you don’t buy a pencil sharpener to store a ton of shavings, you buy it to make your pencil sharp. And this one does exactly that. I didn’t notice any lead breakage, it’s easy to use, durable, and compact enough to pack in any backpack or pencil case. Great value for money and I’ve even received compliments on the quality of the point this sharpener will produce.

Works great. One step sharpens the wood and the other part sharpens the lead. It makes a perfectly pointy pencil tip. I never would’ve imagined a set of pencils and a sharpener would make me this happy.

This sharpener was recommended at an art class. I am using the sharpener to sharpen Prismicolor colored pencils which cannot be put into an electric sharpener. I am pleased that I am able to get a relatively fine point with the sharpener. The barrel that holds the shavings is small. That's the trade off for a small sharpener that I can take into the field.

I LOVE this 2 step pencil sharpener for my Blackwing pencils! It gives you the perfect point and a wonderful writing experience.

If you love a Blackwing pencil and you don't hand sharpen it with a single edge blade, it's worth getting this.

Had an issue with the first one I received, but customer service took care of it quickly. The second one I received works perfectly. I like this sharpener better then the bigger, more expensive one offered by Blackwing.

Sharpener seems fine although you can only sharpen a pencil or two before you need to empty the container. Also I ordered the 12 coloured pencils with this and was charged $11 for shipping the sharpener and $11 for shipping the pencils although they came in the same box. I feel I shouldn't be charged twice for shipping. Refund the extra shipping and I will reconsider my review.

Al momento non mi era chiaro il motivo dei due inserti, poi ho capito ed apprezzato la finezza. Il primo a sx tempera la matita, il secondo (quello a rx) lavora di fino sulla punta di grafite. Il risultato è eccellente.

The lid is a singular piece that connects to the body via friction. The flexibility that allows it to open and close is because it tapers and pinches to a point where the hinge (a flap of plastic, really) is basically PAPER THIN. You best bet it'll break off. Guess it still do what a sharpener says it be do, man. Lid still sucks, though.

No daña las puntas y quedan muy afilados los lápices, es muy satisfactorio. Lo uso muy a menudo y no parece sufrir daños de uso. De lo mejor que hay.
