The Regalo Top of Stair Gate offers a universal installation kit that fits 99% of stairway applications. Simple Glide Technology allows gate to expand and fit stairways 29" up to 42" and easily expand inward and outward while passing through. Easy to install. Adapter kit is included and does not require any drilling into or marking up your banister or woodwork. Note: Depending on the shape, dimensions and mounting components utilized in your doorway or opening, the maximum and minimum length of this gate may increase and/or decrease slightly. When mounting between: Two walls without any baseboards: The opening width must be between 28" and 42". Review: Looks good, slightly difficult to unlock - The Regalo gate is a nice looking gate that does its job of preventing my 18 month old going down the stairs. Installation needs professional skills as one side needs to be drilled for support (if you have a wall). Its easy to remove it with one hand, however, for locking it requires a lot of effort. The instructions were quite good and the parts were over supplied so it was useful.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the height, from the floor to the top rail of gate, after the gate has been installed?**
A: 30.5 inches from floor to top of gate. BUT, it depends on how you attach it to wall. My husband did it almost flush with floor. There is a middle knob that twists and provides support. This can be twisted to provide more middle support and can touch or not touch the floor. We keep it off the floor but still providing support on transitions because it scratches as you open it. We could just add some felt, but never did.

**Q: How many wall mounts are included in the box? Want to use at the top of basement stairs which have no banisters but oversize baseboard? Thx!**
A: For mounting to a wall with baseboards it came with 1 Vertical mounting tube and 3 plastic wall spacers .  You put screws through all of those and into the wall. I would use wall anchors (good quality molly's) if you don't have a stud behind the sheetrock in the space you are mounting to.  I don't think it came with wall anchors.   We just cut a long piece of wood and painted it to match before mounting it and then you have equal support behind the mounting bars all the way down.  We love the gate and the piece of mind it provides.

**Q: Our post is 5 1/2" on each side for a total of 22" around.  Will this gate attach around that?**
A: No. The straps that wrap around the post are only 16" long. You would need 22" at a minimum.

**Q: Can this be installed with banister-wall without screwing into wall side?**
A: I was wondering the same thing. Let me know if you found one that doesn’t require any drilling.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very sturdy gate, not the easiest install, doesn't work well one handed, worth it for multi-stairs

I bought 4 of these baby gates, and so far we have gotten 1 installed. These are quite pricey, but for my home, I have 4 sets of mismatching staircases, and this Regalo is the most versatile with the mounting kits for round and square banisters as well as the wall. I have one square to square stairs, two circle to wall, and one square to circle staircase. I wanted all the gates to be the same, so we wouldn't have issues trying to figure out the open/lock mechanism on 4 different gates/models. Few things to note, the adhesive on the square banister corner guards were no longer sticky, so didn't really help in staying still during installation and one of the plastic locks for the velcro was upside down, so it was mind-boggling. My husband also said that using 3 of the corner guards instead of 4 on the square banister allowed a more secure fit. Aside from that, it works very well. It's very sturdy, easy to unlock by squeezing the triggers and lift up to unlatch. I have unlatched it with one hand, however, it does work better two handed, so keep that in mind if bringing baby in arms. Will edit after installing the remaining 3 if there are any other things to note, but loving it so far!
