Removing the lid you will find your item covered in paper shreds. When you remove them, youll see the rock face-down, which really does bring a little excitement in wondering what the other side looks like. What I received was beautiful. Rich, deep purple hues gleam in the center with an outer ring of lighter, lavender/clear crystals that sparkle in the light. The entire thing is roughly the size of my palm and weighs a touch over 1.2 pounds (I purchased the 1.1 pounder). As expected from a rock its quite sturdy and durable, but I wont be playing catch with it anytime soon. :) Mine arrived a bit dusty (also expected from a rock) but a good rinse with water and it shines like a mirror.
