Bought the ClipperCreek LCS-20P to charge my wife's CT6 plug-in hybrid. 120VAC charger came with the car. Works well but takes too long, about 12 hours to charge. The 240VAC charges about 3 times faster and at a very reasonable price. The website has a lot of useful information. Go with NEMA 14-30 outlet. It has a ground terminal and can handle much higher currents compared to a dryer type outlet, NEMA 10-30. The holster comes in very handy. Snaps right into place. Installed a watt-meter so I can monitor the input voltage and current any time. If anything goes wrong like voltage dropping too much or current draw is too high or too low, the meter will show it. Attached is a picture of it.June 15, 2020An update. Been over 2.5 years and still working well. No signs of wear and tear at all. No cracks on insulation or plastic even at the stress relief joints. The car gets plugged in 2 to 3 times per day. Well made product. Reset my watt meter a few times already and it now shows over 7000kWhr accumulated charge since my last reset.

The charger arrived on time and was very well packaged. After reading about 20 Amazon reviews of other customers who bought chargers from other companies including Siemens and Chinese brands I came across Clipper Creek’s positive reviews and noticed their chargers are made in the US and come with a 3-year warranty, which beats any other product!! I had an electrician do the installation of the plug-in outlet, an on/off switch and preparation for 240 volt conversion , so when the charger arrived I just used 4 screws and installed the charger next to the outlet. Very easy to do even for a novice. The charger has worked flawlessly from day 1, I sometimes use it 2-3 times a day like on the weekends for example. My charging time is less then 2 hours now for a full charge instead of 7 hours with 115 Volt charger that came with my car (BMW 530e). I had the charger for over a month now and highly recommend it.

This ClipperCreek 220 v charging station is easy to install (hangs on 4 hidden screws) and works great. Even with 25 ft. of cable, it stores the cable neatly wrapped around the unit. I did not use the included wall-mounted holster, but let the connector hang just as shown. Obviously, it just plugs in to a dryer outlet and works just like the OEM Chevy Volt 110 v unit, except three times faster charging. It was delivered promptly, directly from ClipperCreek, with good packaging for damage-free delivery. Good equipment and price.

This is one of those 'no news is great news' things. I got this charger for my 2012 chevy Volt. It charges more than twice as fast as my standard charger. It was simple to set up (added the correct 220 dryer plug in my garage and plunged it in.) Other than the fact that there is no built in light to make it easier to see what you are doing when you plug it in that's the only difference between it and the factory charger. (The lack of a light is the reason for 4 rather than 5 stars... turns out it's more useful than I realized.) Can't recall when I bought it but its been at least months now with no issues.

This charger works just like it's supposed to. It reduces my charging time by 60%. It plugs right into my dryer plug (NEMA 14-30), although the wall plug had no ground wired into it. So we grounded to the water piping and at the same time flipped the wall plug upside down (it's 10 inches from the floor) so the charger would install on the wall above it. It has worked flawlessly for the 3 weeks I've been using it. I mounted the holster on the edge of a shelf next to the car and out of the way. I couldn't be happier with the charger. It makes planning for a longer drive easier. Good job Clipper Creek!

This is the exact right unit to buy if like me you have a Chevrolet Volt. It will charge as fast as is possible 4 hrs. if completely discharged. It works fantastic it was a snap to install on wall with garden hose cradle from Ace Hardware and factory head holder it's always easy to use. Since we found out that the Chevrolet Volt is recommended to always be plunged in when not in use to run battery cooling system it is nice to know that this Clipper Creek unit functions so flawlessly !!! Thanks for your honesty in your literature Clipper Creek as your honesty about not needing more than your 16 Amp unit is exactly why I bought your charger. Well that and your great reviews!!!Update I now have two on at home in garage and one at work in electrcal box. Great products !!!!!

This charger works very well, I'm happy with the product. The charger was easy to mount on the wall of the garage, as was the holster for the charging head. My Volt charges in just a few hours now that I have this level 2 charger. I think this charger is a very good value for the money. The only thing I would recommend is that you make sure the electrician installing the outlet understands that this would need a 14-30 outlet, not an L14-30 outlet. Those are two completely different outlets, and we learned this the hard way as we didn't yet have the charger when they installed the outlet.

The design is excellent and installation was easy. Over the past year, the charger has performed as advertised and there is no visible wear and tear. A few words of advice: I recommend that purchasers supply power to this device with a dedicated 220-volt line, together with a dedicated and appropriately-sized circuit breaker. I also advise installation by a licensed electrician.
