SVBONY SV13 20-60x65/20-60x80mm Spotting Scope Telescope IPX7 Waterproof for Hunting Bird Watching with Carrying Case

I am not a optician, not an engineer or such, but I do own several good long range rifle scopes!So, being aware how much good optics cost....because good quality glass is important and not cheap to have....I was more then surprised what this spotting scope can do.first impression is its lightweight, feels a bit cheap?!It has a wonderful pull out sun shade up front!The dial for the focus is super fine and easy to use.Eye piece has rubber cup that moves up or down, which helps with eye relief.Turning the zoom ring feels slightly gritty...Well balanced and 3 options on the thread plate for the tripod.Scope has metal thread on bottom eye piece for protection cap, but no cap included...Eye piece protection cap for front and back lenses are out of rubber, the large back lens cap is a small pain to put back on but protects well.Phone adapter comes with it and works real well.It has a small rail on sunshade for aiming at targeted objects, works nice...Ok, now to the performance....I took it out and mounted it on a professional sturdy SLR camera tripod, which is a must do!!Dialed in lowest 20X zoom and looked across our valley on the other side of a farm hill, about 400 yards verified with my range finder....Wow, it was fixing to rain, no sun and later in the afternoon...I was actually able to pick up flowers and would been able to identify what kinds of growing on this pasture!! No black ring around the eye piece, the eye piece distance worked great....no shadow or such.....I had the retractable cup all the way out which worked best for me, both eyes open or my dominant eye open only.Colors are great, no visible blurriness on the very outer edge of the lens at 20X!!I went to 30X and still the very fine focus worked great, very crisp sharpness, could clearly identify the eyelashes of the animal!!!A large rock formation at 350+ yards I could easily see fine Moss and grass growing there....Impressive...As I am planning to use this spotting scope for the shooting range at 100 yards and for future long range shooting 600 yards+, I had to stretch it out to more distance the next day.Sunny and mid day light, at ranges ranged to 600+ yards I would be easily able to see hits at a metal gong lets say 2 MOA or so(12X12 inch )Paper targets, I am sure 223, 6.5 and 30 cal impacts should be no problem to 300 yards!!Next was a enclosed deer stand build across the alley, I know its about 1.6 Miles away....at 30X I was clearly able to see the windows, would been able to see if anybody was inside!!!!! Wow....stretching it to about estimated 2 Miles, looking at a Telephone tower, I could very easy and as a sharp image see the different parts, lines and cables on top of the tower....Using this spotting scope at 60X is possible but sharpness will decline a quiet a bit, as expected in this price range.....slightly foggy image and eye distance to eye piece way more difficult.....BUT doable.My best view was between 20X and say 50- X, which 20 was cristal clear and sharp, VERY usable at 35X and then down from there a bit....Conclusion: NO, its not a Swarovski, not even an Athlon....BUT heck fire....for a $139 spotting scope it is a super deal, very much quality of more expensive glassed scopes and absolutely good enough for what I need it for....Will it hold up to wear and tear...that we have to see.I like it and can recommend it!!

Well deserved 5-stars.I bought this because the optics looked to be better than the SVOBY SV28 range. It is very good. I was able to see the pink legs of oystercatchers and stilts clearly at 650m on a day with a fair bit of heat haze. I was looking for Fairy Terns, but these are so small that in the shimmer off the sand you cannot see their legs, but I can tell the beak is orange with a lousy phone video that I got using a phone adapter.I am new to spotter scopes, so am not sure how good this is compared to other scopes, but that long-range video shows minimal blurring at the edges, very little color aberration.I bought this because it was cheap and we could afford to lose the money if it was no good. Also the amazon reviews were very good.Having received it and used it has encouraged me to trust in the SVBONY brand, and we have now ordered the next level SV406P (with ED glass). This will allow a direct comparison between the excellent non-ED glass in the SV13 and the supposedly clearer SV406P.It seems the SV406P is used by many birders like us - people who want to see and identify birds, but not at the cost of thousands of dollars. When the SVBONY SV406P arrives I will post comparisons. Remember the SV13 was bought for NZD196 (approx USD $100 + NZ Tax) and the SV406P will be NZD $480 (USD $245 + NZ Tax) so 2.5 times the cost. How much better will it be? We will soon know, but either way, I am delighted with the quality of the SV13, Unbelievable for the price.Update 22 June 2026I now have the SV406P. It is nicer to use, but is double the price.The SVBony SV13 may well be the very best value spotting scope you can buy, but if you can afford to double your budget to the SVBony 406P, it will bring you joy.It has a slightly clearer image (especially at full zoom or on overcast days).The eyepiece somehow provides a more comfortable viewing experience.The wonderful dual-control focus allows for fine focus with the lightest touch, it is very easy to use.I will add photos of both scopes when I receive the mobile phone camera adapter that will fit the very 52mm wide eyepiece of the SV406P.

We bought this to look out to sea. It is perfect! We used it to replace another one and this is so much better. Easy to focus and we bought the stand too so we can keep it steady. Very pleased with this purchase.

works well for the price, the glass is not as good as a vortex but it is still clear, built in sun shade is nice glare can be very bad with out it. The included shoulder strap broke after falling 3 feet on to grass, and the included phone mount is not as bad as i thought it would. overall its easy to set up and will get the job done at a fraction of the price. if you are a serious about hunting or what ever your use for this is i would save up and get a vortex just because of the warranty they include.

Product arrived promptly and seller contacted me to confirm arrival, which I thought was unusual and thoughtfulThe scope itself seems sturdy and the images, to an untrained eye at least seem very sharp.Needs a very stable tripod for the higher zoom lengths though.The Smart phone adaptor is fiddly to set up and use.A few weeks later and out of the blue, the seller contacted me and informed me that they had sent me 2 adaptor rings to attach a DSLR! This was very unexpected and welcome as I bought the scope mainly for photography.Unfortunately, the tube doesn't go over the eye piece (attached photos) and the rings are not compatible with my Pentax camera.Still, I'm very pleased with my purchase and particularly by the seller (Angela)
