What a beautiful and functional product! It fits great, though tight at first, but don't give up. Lens covers never fit like a comfy t-shirt, they're supposed to be snug. It's easy to use; I can reach all the lens controls. When installed, my lens looks fantastic and is no longer the "look at me, I'm an expensive Canon lens!" Seems quite durable for field use. Price is lower than I would have expected for such a nice product. Highly recommend!

Exactly what I expected. Should protect the lens from incidental bumps and wear. I’ve had one on my EF 70-200, so when I got a RF 100-500 I knew I wanted a new cover. The good - everything fits snugly. Nothing is going to come loose. I know people say it’s difficult to install, but it’s not. Read the instructions, use the plastic film. It’s easy. The bad - unavoidable, but when you manipulate any of the rings, you can hear the fabric rubbing each other. Not an issue for photos, but could be if you’re doing video. Rolanpro needs to add flaps and Velcro. Cover the lens hood - and IS controls. Especially on this black camo cover, the white contrasts even more. I may try to sew something to the cover, with some Velcro, so it stays shut - and if you need to keep it open for quick changes, a little spot of Velcro to keep the flap open. Really not that difficult! Also the tripod ring foot only has one hole for a plate to screw into, the other hole isn’t exposed - so I’ll cut that open. I use two screws so the plate doesn’t twist.

I bought a lens directly from Canon as the one from Amazon was used and not new which i returned (lens not included in this product ;-). On the new lens, the cover works well and is easy to put on if you are a bit patient. Although there is some text in Chinese on the instruction (not English) it is no problem as a nice easy to understand sheet is included that has the pieces labeled and includes pictorials of the process and in which order. The only thing to remember is that ther is a plastic sheet included that you need to use to put over the rubber material fro the zoom ring and then you put the cover over that when it comes to that step. After you have positioned it, you need to pull the plastic sheet patiently with some force out. That you have a brand new and not used item you can tell as it comes in a sealed silver bag. I ordered this pattern because it was lighter in color and may reflect a bit better and not get hot. However, it probably does not matter much so choose the pattern you like best. Maybe I should have a cone for a wilderness/tree pattern. As for the material, I like it a lot as it seems at the edges and in contrast to another brand looks more sturdy. I put it on mostly to protect the outside condition of the lens, not really for the camouflage. Only negative I see it is quite expensive. For this price It should also include the covers for the extenders

The product is good quality, however, I discovered that I prefer to see printed numbers and feel the camera, so I took it off. I guess its only purpose is protection.

I purchased this after I purchased the same item for a different Canon RF 200-800mm lens. This one was somewhat more difficult to install. This lens fitment requires you to use an included sheet of cellophane to install one section. I found it a bit difficult. I ended up using a dull-edged butter knife to help me slowly wedge that particular piece in place. Once all the pieces were installed (about a one hour job), I was once again delighted with the finished installation fit and product quality. By the way, the product description says it's a dark brown pattern. Thankfully, It isn't (as I suspected). It's actually a dark grey and black pattern, the same as it is on my previously purchased 200-800mm Rolanpro lens cover.

Much better than Lenscoat or other offerings. The ends of each piece are seamed and sewn, so no fraying. Nice snug fit. Easy to install even though the instructions are in Chinese. All of the pieces are numbered and the pictures are self explanatory. I'm guessing people who are giving this 1 star because of the fit didn't bother to use the cellophane piece included for sliding the segments into place. Pricey, but worth it. I also have one of these on a Canon EF 400mm F4

I came so close to returning this piece of crap. The instructions are in Chinese, so you have to rely on the numbers on the instructions (some of the pieces are numbered as well). The instructions have your put the pieces on in a very backwards way and it makes it VERY DIFFICULT if nearly impossible to put on. It was a STRUGGLE and very frustrating!! I would not recommend this product and would never purchase again.

This cover was very hard to put on - my fingers / hands ached the rest of the day. The instructions are in Chinese so if there were any tips about getting the separate parts onto the camera, I couldn't read them, had to just rely on pics for which piece went where. Make sure you put the piece with the cutout for reading focal length on the right way the first time (oops). I was disappointed that the piece that goes over the extended zoom is velcro-closure and doesn't let the lens retract. I couldn't tell from the photos that it forces the lens to be fully extended (at 500 mm) when on. I have it on but attached a bit loosely so I can at least retract the lens partway - it kinda defeats the purpose of having a zoom if you have to stay at 500mm all the time. Overall though, it does fit well (and very snugly), the controls all work well (control ring, focus ring, zoom), the little hatch on the hood is accessible, and I am less worried about getting sunscreen / dirt / whatever all over the light-colored lens. Maybe the birds won't be as scared of it either.

Item received as described, of very good quality. The cover consists 8 pieces of which the no. 2 needs to be applied only when the zoom extends fully to 500, while other pieces (1, and 3 to 8) are fitted tightly on to the lens perfectly. Very precise. Money well spent to protest the lens. Note: IT is NOT a rain coat since it consists of 8 separate pieces and there are no connections in between them, I took the “waterproof” statement as partial correct.
