Color Depositing Treatment Hair Mask, Desert Rose, 8 oz

It worked a little too well – I’ve used similar products in the past like Manic Panic, that had a much subtle effect. My hair is bleached, I recently had it done in a subtler rose gold color at the salon, but it washed out pretty quickly, despite using very expensive, supposedly color, safe shampoo and conditioner. So I got this product and left it on for 30 minutes, which was a big mistake. I should’ve checked it at 15. I am now very pink, but I know a few washes and it will lessen. I did get the conditioner, which I will try once the brightness has subdued. I wasn’t expecting it to be this bright, but I do like it and my hair feels very soft. I would say if your hair is already bleached or you plan on bleaching before applying, check at 10, 15 and 20 minutes and see how you like it. Also, I really should’ve used a brush applicator, as I used to do in the past, but I had thrown my old one out when I moved and was impatient to try this. So there are a couple patches on the back of the head that are not as well covered as the front. Knowing it all rinses out eventually makes me less stressed out. It’s a good product.

This is my 3rd jar and I love it and always get compliments on my hair.

I've purchased Overtone directly from their website and had better experiences, so maybe this is just cause it's Amazon but I have bleached my hair and been pink for years now so even when putting overtone over faded pink it still looked close to the pictured models results. But this is flat out a reddish orange. I had hoped it would darken as it sat, but no it just gave my hair an even more faded look and hardly deposited any color. I've gotten better results with color luxe who are half the cost of overtone and who I went to for the savings. I only decided to even buy overtone again because I had a conference coming up and my color with color luxe was out so I opted to get Overtone in the mean time and I'm more than a little pissed because the scrambling I was trying to avoid is what I ended up doing anyway since I can't stand my hair to be this ugly reddish gold color that it is. Just annoying. And to be charging $35 for this? Go with a cheaper brand. I promise you it will get you better results.

I used rose gold on dark blonde natural hair. When I opened the jar it looked more like the color of orange sherbet (not at all pink) and it deposited zero color onto my hair, even my streaks in front that are almost white. The second time I used it, I left it on twice as long and still no color, but both times my hair felt and looked nice and well conditioned. It's not worth buying again though.

So I dont like leaving reviews but I wanted to share before and after pics to help others and also mention this stuff was SUPER pasty and hard to spread and apply . Took me a long awhile to get it but I am fairly happy with the results . It covered my Grey and white very nicely. Looks very nice in the sunlight. Also it smells like spearmint gum . ( have blond under layer so pulled up to show both parts)

This will wash out within 3 washes, but is great if you want to play with color and like to change color frequently. It's also really hydrating and conditioning. The rose gold is more pink than rose gold, but fades into a really gorgeous color.

Smells nice and leaves hair feeling soft.

I have been a long time user of Overtone, but I finally fell victim to the new formula. It took almost the entire container to coat my hair, I left it on for 30 minutes and it did absolutely nothing besides turn my hair a little orange. Huge waste of money.
