These are long socks that will cover your calf and go right to below the knee. Depending on your leg length I guess. For me this is great for winter. They help keep my legs and feet warm and yes they are warm but not so much that you sweat. Plus they are wool so your feet don’t get humid and stinky, which is a big plus. I have a spine problem and my feet are almost always cold and these socks help a lot. They are not tight around the cuff so they don’t leave marks on your legs and at the same time they are tight enough that they will not fall down, I’ve never had them slide down at all in the years I’ve been using these. For washing I hang to dry after, never had them shrink. Plus they do have a bit of stretch to them. These are comparable to the duck unlimited socks. I also got those from the store here in town and I’d say they are more or less the same warmth and quality and fit.
