Purina Beyond Organic Wet Cat Food Pate, Organic Chicken & Sweet Potato Adult Recipe - (Pack of 12) 3 oz. Cans

I’ve struggled to get my cat to want to eat either pumpkin or sweet potato in her food. It’s good for her belly, but she usually hates the taste in other products. I opened a can of this as soon as it arrived, and she IMMEDIATELY started chowing down on it. She loves it! My cat has had lifelong chronic respiratory, sinus, and digestive issues since she was a kitten because she and her siblings were rescued as kittens from an unsanitary environment that gave them FVH-1. So I’ve been trying different products for years trying to find something she’ll like, that helps with all that. Lysine can sometimes help her respiratory symptoms, but it can make her digestive symptoms worse. After eating this organic paté, she immediately started having better bowel movements, and, she even coughed out a hairball today that had been stuck in her system for a while because her thick mucus can make it hard for her to cough it up sometimes. The mucus in her hairball was thinner and more watery than usual, and I think that’s because of how watery and saucy this paté is! Not saying it’s a miracle food, especially after only a few days with it, but so far I’m happy and impressed, and, I hope the quality of this product stays good because we bought this after needing to switch when her regular Sheba food started coming in expired or rotten in some way, one bad batch after another. Glad we switched to this organic food for her! It does also ease my mind that it’s organic so she’s not being exposed to harmful pesticides and hormones. It can be hard to find affordable organic food for cats, so I’m glad I stumbled upon this!

This is the best quality cat food on the market I believe. All cat food should meet this quality. This ones a little pricey but I like that it's organic and pate with no gravy. It's similar in cost to a can of sardines so it is pretty expensive for cat food but I'm not complaining.

My cat literally won't eat it. She just walks away from it. I've purchased the Beyond Turkey and Sweet Potato chunky meat type and all she will do is drink the gravy. I don't know if she just doesn't like the flavor of the meat or she can't chew it...? She's only 1-1/2 years old and her teeth are fine. I feed her the chunky Fancy Feast Turkey and Sweet Potato and she loves it. So...I didn't really know how to rate it. Beyond is definitely the more healthier choice, but that doesn't help if she won't eat it. But, the rest of the features in the rating are definitely a 5.

We chose the chicken & sweet potato formula because two of our cats have digestive issues which are sometimes helped by adding sweet potato. After over a year of use, I can report back that both improved significantly. BUT — the highlight which will be of interest to so many cat carers is likely to be the quality of the ingredients. Even expensive brands often have a lot of fillers such as guar gum, tapioca and even potato starch. Purina Beyond has only what you should expect, plus the vitamins and minerals required by AAFCO. All at an affordable price.

My senior kitty came to me on a prescription diet, wet and dry. High stress at old place. Bloody poo, etc. Now, that kitty is in a calmer more steady home, I decided to change their food to non prescription as the original giftings ran out. I found a dry food that suits them very well. With a slow steady transition they never threw it up and they are thriving and their hair and coat look great. And their output is great. later, I decided because I was running out of the wet prescription food I was gifted with the kitty.. to change up the wet food. And after researching I decided to buy Beyond organic. I'm not sure that was the best decision, but I'm not saying it was the worst either. It smells nothing like food. The prescription food smelled okay and didn't want to make me gag. I have avoided feeding wet food to any of my cats for all the years I've had cats because it smells horrid to me. And, unfortunately, this Beyond Organic does not smell like food. It is bitter tart dry.... I don't know, just smells. Not like mold, but, just not like food. I thought with organic food it would smell like real food. At least something somewhat Pleasant. Not the case. My human problem. Anyhow, the kitty with a sensitive digestive system being that they are senior: they are doing okay on it so far. They've only chucked it up a few times. And it's more of a hairball formula rather than just puking. Yay team. _-_-_-_-_ My kitty enjoyed the prescription food. I smashed it up with warm water: it gave them a juice to lick; and I really enjoyed that they were getting more fluids in their system. So that is what I did with this version of Beyond organic. I get a scoop out and put it in water so that they would get more liquid as well as a tasty treat. The kitty asks for it. They walk away for a while and then come back to it. But after a very short period of time they want nothing else to do with it. However, the kitty is asking for it again the next night. And I scoop out a little bit more from the saved portion, add it to water, and they pretty much do the same behavior. The unfortunate part is that out of Four Scoops it can't last 4 days in the refrigerator without turning even nasty or smelly - - kitty won't touch it then. And that's okay. I just wanted to share my experiences. I may not buy this again. I would rather serve a Kitty food that I enjoy when I open it. And not flinch every time I open the can or uncover it for the next night. My gag reflex matters, too.

My cats love this; however, I find it in short supply and/or discontinued! Worse, when I do locate it, the price is tripled! Why??

This Pate creates ABSOLUTE TORTURE, IF a Can is opened, even IF You're Not Hungry, but believe You Me, You become Hungry Very Quickly & You don't even have to be in the same room; smells DELICIOUS! We have used this Organic Cat Pate for Years with multiple Cats. Each had severe Health Issues (CKD, MegaColon, Cancer, Cardiac & Thyroid Issues) & this is the cleanest re: ingredients that we have found in a "prepared" product. Our two (2) Ladies, who have both now passed to the Otherside Of The Veil, were 20 & 17. We have NO DOUBT that this food contributed to them being with us as long as they were. When we switched from the Vet Prescribed Diets, and began putting our own Research in place re: Specific Supplements, Nutrition, PURE Water, etc., it was AMAZING how each improved, tremendously! Our one (1) Girl had been given -6 Mos., but was with Us 5+ Years! Our Senior Boy, has been on this Pate since we adopted him! WE PRAY it will be as beneficial to him, as Our Ladies!

My two maine coons somewhat liked this food. I used it as a filler in between other meals but once I learned of the class action lawsuit, I'm NOT buying this anymore. I'm outraged an ORGANIC food with certification is putting carcinogens into the food. It's difficult enough to know who to trust for feeding ourselves as well as out beloved pets. This angers me tremendously. My cats are my family and I want the very best for them. I will, from now on, make all of their meals. I'm fed up with misleading labels and lies. Watch out for carageenan people. Another dangerous carcinogen. I saw the purina organic can dogfood has carageenan in it. I don't understand how these companies are being approved and getting by with putting carageenan in ORGANIC food. You all have lost my confidence.
