Amazing Product
I have used many color depositing masks and I must say this is the best one by far. First of all, it is nice and thick so it stays on your hair, without having to worry about it dripping everywhere. It also has such a nice smell. I had faded highlight, and my hair was feeling dry from heat appliances. I used this mask and I could not believe the results. It darkened my hair and left it so soft and smooth, with my highlights still showing in the light. It looked even better once I curled my hair. It left such shine and really brought my hair back to life. I will be using this regularly!

My dry, silver roots love the espresso brown color and silky results.
My 1st reaction was " holy shipping it worked" and my dry hair felt so silky when other shampoo turned it into a rats nest. Love this stuff. My natural hair is bright silver, thin like clear fishing wire so if i don't dye it the scalp is clearly visible. It is also extremely dry due to medical treatments from infusions. No matter what shampoo or conditioner i used, it knotted up. This stuff made my hair comb through like silk. My hair is so dry, I only need to wash my hair once a week. After the 1st washing the roots did lighten up but it does say you can use this product once a week. Love this product. This is great for inbetween hair coloring cuz the roots dont show. It is a little messy and can leave stains but i cleaned up any stains right away or used bleach on my white sink. In the shower, i plugged up the drain so was pooled on the floor and any dye was diluted and did not stick to the shower surface. Overtone is very thick putting on and did not drip. Just be sure to cover any surfaces and clean up right away. I am definitely ordering again. To Overtone Company - DONT CHANGE THE PRODUCT!

DO NOT USE. Espresso Brown died my hair & everything else purple.
Bought espresso brown because my hair is currently a reddish brown & i wanted it slightly more brown. Used as directed & i immediately realized it was dying my skin purple. I got in the shower to wash it out and it was bright purple coming out. I was panicking at this point as the packaging and everything clearly says BROWN, yet it was dying my tub bluish purple, died my skin & nails purple, and yes, it died my hair dark almost black purple. It's like basically back but clearly is purple. Absolutely ruined my hair. I don't know how in a million years this would ever dye someone's hair brown. It was purple. I'm not sure if i got bad packaging or what but this is NOT BROWN. Now i'm stuck trying to wash it out; i'm on day two probably washed my hair 10+ times and each time it floods my tub with purple water & it never ends. I have to sleep with a towel over my pillow and when I wake up there is purple dye where i slept. Literally the weirdest and the most horrible experience i've ever had with hair dye and I dye my hair often. Especially considering this is supposedly semi-permanent and it's staining things like i've never experienced before even with permanent dye. On top of that, it made my hair feel horrible & dry the second i washed it out. Definitely NOT a conditioner. Tldr: espresso brown dyed my hair, skin, tub, and towels dark purple, almost black. Ruined my hair that i simply wanted a little darker brown. Smells horrible & did not condition at all, made my hair feel like straw. Still washing it out days later & still staining everything. DO NOT BUY. Literally don't know what to do now i'm stick with black purple hair and freaking out.

pretty much just like pictured, for 3 days. Very FUN!
I got the 8oz Espresso brown conditioner. First 2 pictures are my natural hair (I did not bleach or change it before adding the conditioner, so what you see is dye over that exact color.) The 2nd two pics are the day after I dyed it. The 3rd two pics are 7 days after I dyed it. I did two pics each for different lighting. In the last two pics you can see that it fades reddish, but in bluer lighting it looked chocolate brown. This was so fun to test out dark hair on me. It lasted as that gorgeous rich dark color (see pics 3&4) for about 3 days if I'm being generous, and I don't wash my hair every day. I was it every other day at most. I have fine hair and its about shoulder length, I was able to dye my hair with this stuff twice. It feels almost like a thin clay going on, and has a strong smell. MY HAIR WAS SO THICK, SOFT, AND BOUNCY THE DAY AFTER DYEING IT!!!! IT WAS AWESOME! I got tons of compliments, lots of people said my hair looked much thicker. Also, if it gets on your skin it'll dye it purple for a day lol. I dyed my eyebrows too and it did great, just keep it off of skin you don't want to look like is part of you eyebrow. This stuff definitely has more of a reddish tint so expect it to fade kinda red. My hair naturally has a TINY bit of red in it if ANY. It's naturally very much a true dirty blonde color. Its worth it for the money if you're getting it to TRY a color or use for a cosplay/costume. but it does not last as the color advertised for very long. I had red hair for like a month tho after lol. So it stayed like the last two pics for a whileee. and my hair is very porous and has a history of holding onto temporary dyes for much longer than they say it will. took down one star just bc it didn't last long enough for me, but it was still a very fun experience!

When you try to go blonde and it doesn’t quite work out
So I had salon blonde hair and I wish I knew about this before my wedding 😂I died it brown to match my red traditional Chinese dress (my husband is Chinese I am Caucasian for reference) and thought cause I used wella toner to get brown and a semi permanent red as filler before brown I could just use some of that bond building color remover and go right back to my blonde. No. I could not. Hair being in a very touch and go state later 😂 and refusal to be this awful weird green tint after using products the lady at Sally’s suggested that shocker didn’t work with toning 😂 (she suggested I use a dye over a toner for a nice “mushroom blonde” and my hair went green blonde or like mucky dishwater just dear god after I did so much to strip the dang dye out) I didn’t want to try and go back down the color cycle back to brown and looked to see what colors overtone or xmondo had. I work as an engineer so I couldn’t do a head of like blue 😂 and I needed it to last (xmondo is just meant for more pale blonde I found out and also meant to wash out sooner plus I didnt see any natural shades when I looked) and overtone had good reviews and videos for being lasting and I also saw a lot about using it on blonde. I got the espresso brown and put it on but much more carefully haha I didn’t glop it on I used little bit by bit and it spread pretty good. Has consistency of like mud but smelled nice. Left it on for the 15 minutes with the Walmart bag on my head 😂. And it honestly came out great! My hair was VERY porous after what it’d been through and I even did a protein treatment before I applied it so it went on like medium to dark I’d say and I shampood after to try and get any left over or build up on my scalp too. It’s been through a couple washes and one being a salon wash cause I had to get a haircut and still no fade really (I’d say about 5 so far) I wash my hair usually like 2-3 times per week. It looks just as it did day 1 but when I do wash though (I don’t use cold water) like after I shampoo it does turn the water colors but I wouldn’t freak out about that to be honest cause it sticks pretty good. I have shoulder…had 😂…shoulder length hair (massive trim) and I’d say I only used like 1/4 of it cause I used little by little but I also have more fine hair. Will continue honestly using this while my hair grows out cause I just really love it overall and may never go back to harsh dyes again depending on how the fashion colors do once it grows out a little and I can do my ends

Espresso brown
I thought this was great color at first. The color was a pretty brown and it worked. After a few shampoos it turned purple. It also made my scalp really itchy. It doesnt last as long as they say even when I used gentle shampoos. It looked good for about a week, then it turned into faded purple which was strange and not what I wanted. If it faded to a normal lighter brown maybe I would have kept using it. The purple and the itchy scalp was not worth it. I tried just putting a little on right before I washed my hair each time to try and make it work but something in it irritates my scalp too much to use it constantly. If you just need a color for a week and dont mind the strange fading, its not bad.

My hair feels healthier than ever
I’m usually very sensitive to fragrances in hair products, but Overtone’s scent works well for me. It has a refreshing minty, herbal fragrance that isn’t overpowering and doesn’t bother my sensitivity. Ever since I stopped using boxed hair dye and switched to color-depositing conditioners, my hair has felt much healthier. I use Overtone primarily to blend and cover my gray hair, and I’ve received several compliments on how good my hair looks. The color is easy to maintain, and I appreciate that it leaves my hair feeling soft and conditioned rather than dry or damaged. Overall, I’m very happy with the results and plan to keep using it.

Happy & would use again
I have been holding off on coloring my hair, so I was happy to find something I could do at home quickly & easily that won't damage my hair. Start to finish it took about 40 minutes to apply, let sit (I did 15-20 min) and rinse. It took much longer to rinse than normal condioner and I left a slight tint in my shower - hopefully that will come out. I wanted to look match my natural color, and just cover my grays. While my grays didn't turn out as dark as the rest of my hair, this is a huge improvement. And the espresso color left my brown hair about the same shade. I will definitely use this again, and may try the chocolate color when I run out of espresso. Update: after using espresso a few times I got a few comments that my hair looked purple (typically after application before washing). 😅 So I switched to chocolate. All shades seem to change slightly with each wash. The chocolate starts a nice, well, chocolate. It makes my grays a coppery color. It looks reddish as it fades, but not too bad. I've actually started using the bottle rather than the tub & use it in the shower after washing my hair like normal conditioner - just leave it in a little longer. Oh, and be sure to use gloves, it will stain your hands!
