OVERTONE® Color Depositing Treatment Hair Mask, Espresso Brown, 8 oz

My 1st reaction was " holy shipping it worked" and my dry hair felt so silky when other shampoo turned it into a rats nest. Love this stuff. My natural hair is bright silver, thin like clear fishing wire so if i don't dye it the scalp is clearly visible. It is also extremely dry due to medical treatments from infusions. No matter what shampoo or conditioner i used, it knotted up. This stuff made my hair comb through like silk. My hair is so dry, I only need to wash my hair once a week. After the 1st washing the roots did lighten up but it does say you can use this product once a week. Love this product. This is great for inbetween hair coloring cuz the roots dont show. It is a little messy and can leave stains but i cleaned up any stains right away or used bleach on my white sink. In the shower, i plugged up the drain so was pooled on the floor and any dye was diluted and did not stick to the shower surface. Overtone is very thick putting on and did not drip. Just be sure to cover any surfaces and clean up right away. I am definitely ordering again. To Overtone Company - DONT CHANGE THE PRODUCT!

I bought this because I recently decided to go brunette again, and espresso was closest to my natural color. My hair was already showing brassy undertones from the bleach and it was bugging me. I glopped this on, and yes it really does stain everything even counter tops (nothing the Pink stuff can’t handle). I was worried it would turn out looking patchy like box dye can when you don’t go the full 9 using paint brushes. Likely it’s because I’m adding onto an already dark color, but it turned out great :) the brassy is toned, my hair is a shade darker once more. I left it in for double the time because I forgot to set a timer. I also did not shampoo it out, because it directed to rinse with warm water only, so I’ll update after a few washes. Edit: in the end I permanently dyed my hair, but this probably lasted about 2 to 3 weeks each depending on how often I washed. I think it’s good for in between dying to save money for a little while, but basically it costed nearly a tub a month to maintain. Not terrible, but definitely not sustainable in the long run because the amount of money spent would equate to getting the hair dyed permanently. However, I do recommend for trying a new color or going darker without fully committing to permanent color although this is still very pigmented, so I can’t attest to it washing out fully since I was going dark in the first place.

I do not recommend this product. I had bleach blonde ends and put this on my hair. It looked good the first day, but after the first shower my hair was a dark blue and now is currently a light blue because it is still fading out.

I don't usually leave reviews but had to! I was skeptical about this "deposit color conditioner" but was shocked at how good the results are. I was tired of up keeping my half balage and howthe color was just looking all the same so I was ready to go back to my natural hair color. I purchased the espresso brown. Application was easy, the smell is minty which I did not mind over a chemical smell in other dyes. Make sure you use gloves and apply evenly as you are applying to dry hair and leave in for 15 minutes. I would recommend washing you hair as usual and then when hair is dry apply overtone, wash out and style. My hair was so soft,less tangled, and smelled nice. The color was soo good and my hair feels so nice. I would recommend and I am tempted to try other colors for brown hair!!! I did 4 starts because I'm not sure how my hair will be after the color washes out. But great overall so far!

Love this line of colorful conditioner. No hassle just put in before or after wash your hair . It’s quick and easy, but not permanent. Gotta wear gloves .

I was looking for an easy self-apply, healthy and gentle product for my hair. Overtone came up in my search. I will start by saying the smell was minty and fresh and it made my hair baby soft. My hair looked nice and cleansed, refreshed in some sense. However, I had trouble getting color pigment in my hair. I had to leave it in for an hour a second time to grasp some color and apply very heavy handed. I would say after multiple attempts the product did seem to blend my roots with my colored hair somewhat but I wouldn’t say it’s saturated. The application is thick and clay like and wasn’t really easy for me to apply. It seemed to stain just about everything besides my hair lol. It never really seems to wash out of my hair after washing multiple times. Sink, bath and hands (gloves applied) but even just the water washing out stained my hands/nails. A lot of clean up needed and messy product. I am left feeling conflicted but it just doesn’t seem to be the product for me. No harm done but just not the color deposit and application process and cleanliness that I’m looking for.

I used this Overtone Espresso Brown Color Depositing Mask on my husband’s hair. He has naturally black hair with a lot of gray, and it toned the gray really well, blending it naturally with the rest of his hair. The result looked soft and natural, not harsh like regular hair dye. Another big plus is the size of the container. The jar is large and will last a long time, especially compared to regular hair dye that usually only lasts for one use. This makes it very convenient and cost-effective for ongoing maintenance. On top of that, his hair felt soft, healthy, and shiny after using it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an easy, gentle way to tone gray hair at home.
