This battery really is compatible with the MO40L02 lawn mower
Because it's only around 1/3 the cost of the OEM battery, I suspected it wouldn't work with my mower. It works almost as well as the battery that came with the mower. I've only had it for a week, but if it keeps working, I highly recommend getting one for your compatible Greenworks device.

issues!
Stopped working normally only works for a few seconds then cuts out after less than a dozen hours of use and maybe 3 full cycles.

Dead after a few months
I purchased this battery earlier this year and it worked great for the dozen times I used it and held a charge for quite a while. However, after just a few months, it would no longer charge. (I know my charger is fine because it successfully charges other batteries.) I would not purchase this again. Save your money and purchase an original Greenworks battery instead.

Works great
Works great and charge lasts. Itโs nice to have a spare battery to keep going when one runs out!

Compatible as advertised, with a few caveats
This will work with the eGo range of products, but if you are using your original charger it doesn't expect a battery to have this much capacity, and so it will blink a warning when it is 2/3 charged. You then have to unseat and reseat the battery to finish charging. Doing that so often, I found that using some silicone spray makes the whole process go smoother. Does seem to run a bit longer than the OEM battery, but not as much more as the capacity would suggest.

Not as good as OEM product
UPDATE - 05082026 - After 2 seasons of mowing, which is about 30 charging cycles for this battery, it died. I used it to mow my front lawn and afterward placed it in the charger but it would not charge. Tried several times but NO-GO. The original OEM battery is still going strong. Itโs not as good as the OEM product. I was surprised it went bad so quickly. Got the new battery. Looks good. Charged it fully and it died after 10 minutes of use! So, I charged it again and the 2nd use lasted about 20 minutes. After charging it again it finally lasted about 40 minutes - which is enough to mow my entire lawn. Letโs see how it holds up in the long run.
