You cannot eat Baru nuts raw, since it can be harmful to you. We toast them to eliminate all bacteria.

Are baru nuts the same as baruka nuts?

Baru Nuts is the actual Name of the Nuts - while Barukas is just a brand selling Baru Nuts which is branding it as Barukas Nuts - In Short it the exact same nuts!

So these nuts are already pre-roasted but the skin is still on them? Are the skins difficult to remove?

The “skin” is still on. You eat them with the skin. Lots of nutrients. These are seeds, not nuts, they are just large and taste like nuts. If you do want the papery skin off, I you’ll find half will come off fairly easy, the other half we feel impossible. But I enjoy them as is.
