what is the length of these blades?

They are 5 inches long. Not 8 1/2 inches. That is the size of the shipping package.

Does anyone make a pin end spiral cut 5 inches long?

Spiral blades are all plain end

What is the max thickness I can cut with this blades? I have never used them before.

I have used it quite often in upto 1/2" thickness of soft wood. They're good blades & don't dull easily provided you wax them intermittently.

Will this blade work on a makita scroll saw sj401? what would it take or need for it to work on the makita? can this blade cut through stainless steel

It should work on any scroll saw that takes a plain end blade. I have not tried it with metal but I have my doubts that it would cut steel.
