tough
Knock outs were a pain to remove. Good thing it is heavily built, but I was concerned the "beating" it took to remove them would damage the box. The punches I tried would make a hole in the knock out before it would break away from the box. **update** The box is working great and the manufacturer reached out to me to address my concerns or if I needed a replacement. This is a a tough box with a decent amount of room to work with and connectors that work well. It is also a nice feature to have a green light on the box to indicate that the box is energized. I am declining replacement as I decided I like this box and I doubt another solution would do any better. As I inferred in my first impression, this box can take knockout removal process. I moved the location of the box and had to remove the bottom knockout too. It went easier as I knew the box was well built.

Well made inlet box
Using this inlet box as a generator inlet for my main breaker panel. The box is well made, constructed of heavy-gauge steel and the paint job is good too. The knockout covers are gasketed which is a nice touch. Some improvements I'd like to see, even if it increased the price: - More than just one tiny screw holding the outlet/coverplate on the box. Once you squish all the 6-gauge wires into the box and smoosh the cover panel back on, the cover wants to spring back at you. That one, tiny screw on the front is fighting to keep the cover on. Maybe put two screws on the sides of the box? - Multiple connector size knockout options like a regular junction box. This box comes with 3/4" sized knockouts only. 3/4" conduit is kind of tight for 3, 6-gauge wires and a 10-gauge ground wire especially if the run is not straight. I moved up to 1" conduit and had to drill out the 3/4" knockout with a step bit. - A metal plate holding the outlet into the box. This plate is plastic and plastic gets brittle over time, especially in the Texas heat where I live.

$PECIAL TOOL REQIRED. NOT INCLUDED.
BEWARE - A special tool is required to cut holes for conduit fittings. The box is stamped with what appears to be conduit knockouts but they are not cut, they are only stamped. A knockout cutter is required to cut a hole for conduit fittings. A knockout cutter is an electrical contractor's specialty tool and most handymen, at least none that I know of, don't own such a tool. I searched websites to purchase one. The cheapest I found was $56. For me, that's too much to pay for a one-time use. (Fortunately, one of my friends has some machine shop equipment and was able to cut a hole in the box for me.) On a positive note, the box is well constructed and sturdy. Once installed and wired up, it works well. Connecting the power plant to the house is now quick and easy.

Well built, pre-drilled 50-Amp Generator Inlet Box with room for those thick 6 AWG wires
The Rophor 50-Amp Generator Inlet Box is exactly as advertised on here. Enough space inside to fit those thick 6 gauge wires plus the ground wire. Another great feature are the pre-drilled holes with installed plastic plugs & gaskets secured by electrical conduit locknuts. My electrician had the box installed & wired easily. I like the front flip-up socket cover with LED indicator. Some other boxes do not come pre-drilled (and the knockouts are more like embossed rather than punched) and the cable connector faces downward, making it harder to see when trying to connect a heavy 50 Amp generator cable. I prefer the front-facing connector on this box. Finally, the low price for these features makes it a better value without compromising on quality. One last note: I've seen reviews & photos supposedly for this product with people complaining about not being able to punch out the "knockouts" without great effort using chisels, drills or saws, only to end up with a mangled mess. Unless there was a previous version of this box model which was not pre-drilled, that doesn't apply to this Rophor inlet box. It is exactly as featured. I'm very pleased with my choice (and so was my electrician).

Does the job for the price!
I had previously mentioned the cords I bought to use on my two homes. This is the power inlet box I used. It seems they were made for each other. Once plugged in you can screw the cover to secure your plug also helps with the rain. The only problem I had is this box was a little tight for the wiring I was using. My wire was a 6ga. core and stiff ass hell which made it almost impossible to bend all the wiring out of the way to be able to close the cover. I replaced my wiring with the same gauge but used a softer wire which basically was a soft flexible shell that covers the 6ga. copper wire instead of hard shell cover. I'm referring to the wire going from the fuse box to the Inlet box. Always use an automatic transfer switch or one that's manual. Always shut the main and if you have no idea what I'm talking about don't even think about doing it yourself. You may survive a 120 volt hit, but 220 could make you well done!
