good
I was surprised at the prices for bowls like this and chose these as they seemed a good price. I really only needed one though. I cooked my home-made Christmas pudding in one and it was excellent - and can certainly be re-used many times.

Not recemmended
Unfortunately the bottom of the bowl cracked and melted on first use in steamer. Not cheap and not fit for purpose.

Brilliant
Cooked a sponge pudding in the bowl in slow cooker came out perfect.

Sturdy pudding basins
Just what Nigella asks for - I made 2 Christmas puds in these and despite 5 hours of steaming ( yes it was worth it!) they have been washed and are as good as new for next year .When plastic is practical and not damaging the planet!

Pudding basins with lids
Now that I have received the lids for my two basins these are great and would buy again. Thank you.

Cannot recommend
I can’t recommend these. They are very thin and made of a brittle plastic that breaks easily. One arrived with a cracked lid and another with a piece missing from the rim. The lids are also loose and do not fit well. Not fit for purpose.

Pudding basins
When I first got the pudding basins I thought they looked sturdy. The lid of one of the basins snapped in half when I was trying to take the lid off

Just what I wanted
These are great, a nice size, I have used them a lot for making up pasta salad, rice, cous cous & potato salad for bbqs & other family gatherings....I haven't yet used them to make a steamed pudding, but do plan on using them to make bacon pudding & steak & onion pudding in the autumn & winter months, I can't see it being an issue they seem very sturdy & the added bonus of the lids makes it easier to store left overs in the fridge for a few days without the wasteful use of clingfilm or foil to cover it.
