Energy Efficiency Without Breaking the Bank (Bosch KGE49AICAG)
I used to run three separate devices, a separate fridge, a freezer, and a mini fridge and these appliances had a combined energy usage of about 230 Watts. Read to the end to see how much I save! The Bosch KGE49AICAG Serie 6 Freestanding fridge has a Class C energy rating and is well worth the ยฃ750-ยฃ800 as it is probably the best bang for your buck in its class. I researched probably over 30 refrigerators before I bought it and so far I'm really happy with it. It is mahoosively big and roomy, standing probably over 6ft tall, 70cm across and 64cm deep, and is whisper quiet. The controls are intuitive, with an LED display and buttons to turn the refrigerator and freezer temperature up or down and there is an obligatory temperature alarm. I bought one of those Energy plug meters, the "Yurayisen Power Meter Electricity Usage Monitor,13A Energy Monitor" specifically to measure the Bosch beast and the device was pretty accurate as I tested it against a 14watt lamp and a 400-1200 Watt variable electric heater. Basically, the Bosch KGE49AICAG only uses circa 21-22 Watts of electricity, which is insanely little compared to my old equipment (230 Watts combined) and will pay for itself in no time at all!!!

If you fancy a big, tall, cool looker that's a beast in the kitchen?
... then this Borch fidge freezer is the business. It certainly an appliance that will be noticed due to its size, and has a storage capacity that will definately meet the food of a growing family, with an energy efficiency rating that keeps the pennies in your pocket. If you like the saying; look after the pennies and the pounds look after themselves then this FF is a great way to apply that priciple in these times of high fuel costs. What more could you want? Large food storage capacity at lower running costs. And when you think a FF runs for 24 hrs x 365 days a year, it this FF model just made sense. If I was being critical then not having a water dispenser is could be it. However after having a very bad experience with my previous Grundig FF dispenser, and noticing other energy efficient FF's not having water dispensers I forewent having a dispenser. Besides the storage size means there is space enough to include bottle of water if you must. My othere criticism would be with the interior pull out plastic food storage Vitafresh containers. They do feel flimsy and liable to break given wear and tear time. Its a shame that what seems a good quality FF from Borch has such a cheap feeling Vitafresh interior pullout food containers. Bit like purchasing a quality Audi Car and finding the interior is fitted out in cheap feeling plastic. Borch or somebody should redesign these pullout food containers to be more robust. Another millimeter or so around the areas of most stress would resolve this issue unless of course the aim really is to have its customers running back every year or so to repurchase these interior Vitafresh containers when they do eventually crack and break. Can't think why any company would do that! ;-))

GIANT FRIDGE FREEZER
Do not think this is a small fridge freezer, no. It's an amazing giant fridge freezer for a family. Amazon delivery dropped this fridge and I was about to say this wasn't the fridge I bought. And they said I didn't add a payment of service for assisting to convey it inside my house. So they left it outside. It took myself and a friend to smartly take off the doors of the fridge before being able to take it inside. Right, I waited for 24hours to turn it own. The fridge is amazingly great. Works so quietly and cools quicker and easily. Do not forget to register the warranty. Bosch has been known for great appliances always i highly recommend this. Thank you.

Arrived Damaged
3 stars because it is much bigger than I thought. Generally looks ok. Massive amount of internal space. I could certain fit in there comfortably during this heatwave lol. I'm going to let it do its thing over the next few hours to see if there are any faults. Not sure about value for money. Seems to be priced correctly. Warning the instructions are borderline useless. I had to use AI to properly understand first use setup. Its so huge. Excatly what I was after.

So big and so cold (unlike our old fridge)
We bought this fridge freezer as we were in a panic as our old integrated fridge freezer had been on its legs for an age and after it heated the food to 20C we knew it was over. After looking around for a more eco friendly fridge freezer after Which? changed the levels so there are less A+++++ items ti's was the best we could find at a competitive price. The fridge freezer is big! It's so spacious we almost don't know what to do with all the new space. As it cools it gurgles and groans, but it's not too loud. Best item we've bought in a long time.

Replaced a Power Hungry Monster
I had a shocking fridge freezer by a well know make using 2 1/2 times as much power as that rated at 426kwh per year. So over 1000kwh/year! The Bosch is a similar size if a tad smaller and is on track to use the stated 120kwh/year. It looks good but is very tall which puts the top shelf very high up. If the extra space is not needed it can of course be left out and thus taller items can be stored too. It is a magnet for marks near the door handle which needs constant cleaning. Other than that it is all good and worth every penny and will pay for itself in no time with the energy saved. Great buy and certainly no regrets.
