America’s bestselling author of Wilderness, The Gateway to the Soul and Nature’s Silent Message offers a glimpse into his childhood of skateboarding, high school brawls, and early trials and tribulations with money and success. The scenery may be different, but the writing style is business as usual, with life lessons cruising a mile a minute in this insightful read about what it means to never grow up . “What do you want to be when you grow up?” We’ve been asked this question over and over, practically since the day we could walk. Many of us have absolutely no idea. We never have and we never will. This bothers us terribly, and on a profound level. We feel useless, disconnected, scattered, unfocused. If we could just make up our minds—about something, about anything! What if you didn’t have to grow up? Society would like us to believe that to be happy, we need successful careers. But let’s face it—we’re not all meant to be doctors, lawyers, scientists, and accountants. Some are meant to be dreamers. The people on the fringes of society who don’t necessarily subscribe to the modern version of the American Dream. Artists, adrenaline junkies, nomads, life seekers. Those who doubt conventional wisdom, question authority, and continually search for newer, better ways to live. The world needs freaks—now more than ever. Never before has there been such an opportunity to live the life of your dreams. Never before have there been so many ways to earn an income. Never before have there been so many ways to have fun! What do you want to be...when you don't grow up ? Review: Great read for a person who views life with an open mind - I enjoyed the authors writing style and how direct his points were. It was easy to follow and a very quick read. This is definitely not a book for all but if you view the world in a different light from most or are willing to be open to others ideas it is a great read. I would recommend if you are a traveler or a person who thinks the way the world works is a little off. Review: Everyone needs to read this book. Literally everyone. - I loved this book more than I thought I would. This is the first review I have ever left on a book, I have to help get word out about it. It is a quick read, 174 pages with big font. I finished it in 2 sittings. This book brings a perspective on life that isn’t talked about nearly enough- living your dreams and working around them. I am walking away from this book feeling inspired to do anything I want with my life. I originally bought this book because I saw a TikTok with paragraphs in this book talking about not sticking to the walls of political parties. Because when we stick too hard, we become lopsided. We label and degrade our fellow Americans so aggressively that we burn bridges. As a young woman in a family with extremely intense political views, I was raised to think the other party was out to ruin my life. That they were evil and vile and destroying our country. It took me some growing up and meeting new people of that opposite party to see that they aren’t the things I was raised to think they were. We are all just people, trying to do what we think is best. My point being, it was so beautiful to get the perspective that both sides need each other. We need both sides in order to thrive, yet we are always trying to find ways to demonize the other side. Thats why I bought it. And on top of getting that, I learned about a way of life I wish was thought in classrooms. Please, read this book. For yourself, and for every other person on this earth. You won’t be disappointed!

Go wander!
Scott reminds us to play! Reminds us that "the grind" is not necessarily the correct path if you need a life of surprise and adventure. Also, his message of not letting your stuff own you is big! Thank you Scott!

Choose your path
This book makes me want to run away from home, in the best sense possible. When they packaged it to ship the stuck a giant sticker on the front and taped the book to the box for some reason and it ruined the outside of the book but the contents are still excellent

Very inspiring!
I've set intentions in my life ever since I began this book. It's also engaging! I read the book on the bus a few times lol. It's officially a favorite and I'd recommend this to anyone who doesn't wanna live that capitalist, 9-5 life, but doesn't know where to start. Now, the only reason I rated it 4/5, was that there's one section advising us on how to diet which I felt was shifting away from the main theme of the book so that disappointed me a little. But it's very brief and didn't ruin the book for me at all :)

for anyone who refuses to live on auto pilot, this book is for you!
This book felt like it was written just for me. I Don’t Wanna Grow Up is more than a book, it’s a reminder, a wake-up call, and a deep sense of comfort all at once. Reading it, I felt seen in a way that’s hard to describe. It reassured me that there are others out there who choose to live an unconventional life, not driven by money or societal expectations, but by purpose, passion, and the desire to truly live. Scott Stillman has a way of gently pulling you back to yourself. This book helped me reconnect with my own reality, the one where dreams matter, where fulfillment isn’t postponed, and where living to your full potential isn’t just an idea, but a responsibility to yourself. And as a ParrotHead, the cherry on top was the Jimmy Buffett quote: “I’d rather die while I’m living than live while I’m dead.” That line perfectly captures the spirit of this book and the life it inspires. If you’ve ever felt out of place in the conventional world, this book might just be for you ! my favorite page, or maybe the most awakening, is the picture below.

An essential book for anyone of all ages
I originally saw this book on TikTok and there were lot of comments saying amazing things about this book. I really wanted to see what the hype was about, so I decided to purchase it. After finishing the book in less than 2 days, I realized what the hype was all about. One of Scott major points in his books is that it’s never too late to do anything, which really resonates with me as someone who struggles with what I want to do with my life. This is one of the best books I have ever read and one of my absolute favorites. I loved this book so much a few days later I went back on Amazon and bought the rest of his books! I have a hard time finding books that interest me and make me actually want to read them, so this says a lot. One thing that I love most is the spacing between the lines. As a person with ADHD and someone who has a hard time reading, I find that this book is very easy to follow along and focus on. I also love the short yet detailed chapters. I reached out to Scott yesterday and told him how much of a fan I am. He is one of the sweetest, most kind, open minded authors I’ve ever reached out to. I love following along Scott’s journey and can’t wait to see what’s next. All of that being said, I am beyond pleased with my purchase! Side note: Scotts instagram is full of beautiful scenic pictures of all the places he goes. I highly suggest giving him a follow on there if you have instagram!

Wow....

This has become my favorite book. I think everyone that has ever questioned their existence in this capitalistic system in which we develop needs to know that there are a lot of ways to exist. I feel so full of hope, life is meant to be lived, happiness is meant to be shared and Love does conquer it all. Thanks Scott 🩷

Disappointing
I bought this book because I find the concept of living outside the preconceived career/marriage/children lifestyle appealing. But I found it very condescending, basically the author has a better lifestyle than everybody else, and if you don’t follow his path/philosophy, you are completely missing the point of life. Which is a shame because our relationship with modern society and nature is definitely something we need to explore and question but again, I didn’t like the way it was presented in this book. Additionally, with a very large font and line spacing, the concepts are not explored in detail and it lacks insightful information.
