Great quality.
It's glued on two sides and so you paint on it while it's still in the pad. No need for blocking. When they dry I insert them into paper frames (which you can buy with envelopes) and use them as Christmas cards.

First use of a hot press pad with impressive use of entire surface
It is nice to utilize the entire paper surface and not needing to tape down the edges. I do not like taking the time to tape and dislike having the disruption of white edges to my artwork. Love the smooth surface to do pen work on my watercolor work. Great testing on this smaller pad. I will enjoy working on a larger pad with my next purchase.

Cold pressed seems better than the hot pressed in this paper
I love the texture of the cold pressed because it is not too overwhelming- it’s a bit less toothy than other cold pressed paper. It takes watercolor (and colored pencils- which show the tooth) very well.As for the hot pressed, which is my preferred watercolor paper texture, I didn’t like this one as much. I felt like it showed a lot of small fibers when using watercolor and like the watercolor wouldn’t show up as well as the cold pressed in this case. I’ve not had that issue with another brand of watercolor paper.Be careful when removing each page, as it can tear into the paper, even when using a palette knife.

Worth the money
As a beginner I made the mistake of buying cheaper paper. It doesn’t absorb water very well and it INSTANTLY wrinkles. They usually aren’t pre-stretched, on a block, or 100% cotton. After dealing with crap paper, I invested a little on this paper and it’s a WORLD of difference. My pieces went from awful, to amazing. I assumed it was my talent, but it was just the paper. I also like how this isn’t the most expensive paper, and is reasonably priced, for the quality of the paper. Perfect for beginners who want professional grade paper but don’t want to spent $80-100 on professional grade paper. Shocked with how well this works for me.

Hot Press Paper Sheds
This was a big miss for me. I was looking for a small (4x6) hot press block and this is one of the only brands that makes them. However, the paper doesn't hold up well to anything. If you draw in pencil and need to erase, you'll take off the top layer of paper and it leaves a fuzzy base. Wetting the paper just makes it weaker/fuzzy.

Great Hot Press Block
Loved working with this paper. Perfect for smooth application, bright colors, linework, details, and washes. The paper does warp a little bit while in use but every paper does. All I had to do was put the pad under some weights and it straightened out really nice and easy. The gum borders are easy to cut into (I didn't have an exacto knife or whatever so I was able to do it with a butter knife... but i wouldn't really recommend doing that it's kind of annoying). If you're deciding on whether you should use this paper or the regular Fluid hot press, CHOOSE THIS ONE. The regular fluid hot press is not good! bad warping, the surface isn't smooth, the colors are dulled down, it's just overall an unsatisfactory experience. This paper however really delivered.

Good starter paper
Worked well enough for gouache. I like that two sides of the paper are glued down to help prevent warping with lots of water, however it’s very easy to get the paint on the next layer of paper because of this. I’ll still opt to tear it off and tape it down.

High quality paper that holds up very well to several settings without buckling badly. Smoothness of the paper allows the watercolour to spread evenly without a lot of spreading
