Intuit Quicken 2014 Home & Business

I have been using this product for some years now and it performs well. It tracks my small business and my investments. It keeps my personal expenses in order. It tracks my tax situation on a year around basis so I don't have any surprises.

I previously had Quicken Home & Business 2011, and I installed this version because quicken disables downloads for updating accounts after 3 years, which is a ripoff. Basically they are making it non functional (it would be a huge time sink to manually enter all account transactions instead of downloading them) so that you are forced to purchase the updated version whether you like the newer version or not.I am not seeing any significant improvements to this program over 2011. In fact it is a downgrade because it operates much more slowly. Every time I make a change to an account entry line category it takes about 2 seconds for an hourglass figure to disappear, before I can do anything else. 2011 line category changes happened instantly and there was no hourglass figure or wait time. Quicken should pay us for having to endure their laggy software performance instead of charging us an arm and a leg for software that is essentially exactly what you previously owned, just produced at a later date, and with poorer performance.I have a high-end Intel i7 desktop PC with 12GB RAM and a high-end NVIDIA video card, so these types of performance issues are unacceptable.Another complaint regarding Quicken 2014...when you are editing transactions it somehow removes keyboard cursor controls every time you edit a transaction or group of transactions, forcing you to use the mouse and click back onto the quicken page before you can move the cursor with the keyboard again...very annoying.The only reason I have stayed with quicken this far is because it would be a major issue and time sink to use another company's software and try to convert my business files over.Boooo Quicken!

Since I run on a Mac, I have to use Windows on top of Parallels (the Mac version of Quicken is useless). I bought this version as a last ditch effort to avoid upgrading to the newest Quicken which is filled with bugs and data corrupting flaws, but I need to get another year out of Quicken until I can figure out where to go next. Options are limited and I don't hold much hope for the new buyer of Quicken to bring it back to it long gone days of quality. Sad decline of a once great product.

I actually like the older version better but this is still very nice. Maybe I just need to delve into the features.

Have used quicken for years. This edition works fine.
