The product it's self is very impressive. Nice heavy, rustic, antique look. The leather case also adds to it's overall impressiveness. However, the compass is not accurate. I would not trust this piece in the woods or at sea. My Grandfather and Father both served in the US Navy. I know my directions and how to read a compass. Perhaps I just got a faulty product...

This is really an amazing compass. Feels nice to hold, weight, appearance, quality. I was a little surprised at how beautiful a peice it was. The leather holder is unique and well made. I really loved it. My son (a gift) loves it. I'm so happy I chose this particular company. No regrets at all. I am so very grateful of the quick turn around. 10 stars.

Lovely gift. I purchased this for Christmas for one of my sons. He is particularly difficult to buy for. He was pleased. It was something I picked out just for him. It does work and will point to magnetic north. It has a nice antique appearance. It's weighty and I like the leather box/pouch it comes in. I would recommend this for anyone. As Robert Frost is my favorite poet, the poem is perfect for an adult child that because of work may be moving away. He's always talking about it. So I told him the gift of the compass was so he could always find his way back home.

I bought this as a gift and it looks amazing. It is a beautiful gift, very well made. The case is well made, protects the compass and is functional and the small touches to make it look like an antique are subtle and look great. I was impressed with the quality and it made a quite good impression.

This was a gift for someone very special and I could not have chosen a better personalized gift. The detail and craftsman work in this compass was absolutely stunning. Definitely a great gift for those that love to travel.

The most beautiful and perfect casing and quote, heavy and opens and closed nicely, the outer holster case is super lovely, only ting that didn't really match is that on the inside where the actual compass is, is backed by a sticker background and the pointer is lovely but also seems cheap, makes a ton of tinny sounding noise while bouncing around to find direction, not yet sure of accuracy of finding North, would make a great desk gift but not sure if its a practical direction finder

Excellent quality, glass face, fast and accurate direction if you know how to "walk" a floating compass, takes roughly 10 seconds for a reading. Serial number stamped with production order.Heavy in a classical sense which adds to the realism of a modern device designed to reproduce antiquity. Hinge is a solid design and includes a set screw threaded knob to "lock" the lid closed and does require the use of WD40 or penetrating oil on initial use which is how you want a new device. Tight is better than loose in nearly all aspects of life.Minor typo on the poem however, word "and" is spelled "adn", unfortunate however given the superb craftsmanship of the rest of the device I've decided to not remove 1 star of rating.Poem is on a stamped copper insert that is likely glued to the top of the compass lid, my intention is to replace it anyways so it's not a big deal.Overall I give it 9/10 and would definitely buy again.

I am a youth minister and bought this as a graduation gift for one of my youth. Nice solid piece. He absolutely loved it. I do however feel cheated paying $60.00 for this item after seeing it at it's current price around $20.00. But I would not hesitate to purchase this again at the lower price knowing how nice the compass is. Nice leather case. Great keepsake. Has an antique feel even though it is new.
