This is a great alternative to use when the milk runs out!
Enjoy every day - Just love the taste!

Wonderful stuff!
This worked well in place of the old tried and true Milnot filled milk that is impossible to find nowadays. It whips nicely if you refrigerate it for a while and use a chilled bowl and beater.

Great Substitute for Milnot
I decided to try this because it sounded like basically the same thing as Milnot, which doesn't seem to be available anymore. I love the famous Milnot cheesecake which many are familiar with, and I needed something to replace the Milnot in the recipe. I was a little nervous about buying this because it's a package of 12 and if it didn't work out, I'd be stuck with 11 useless cans. However, I'm delighted to say that the Sweet Cow worked perfectly and tasted great. This will be my new go-to for filled evaporated milk.

Great milk in dented cans
This is my favorite evaporated milk for Kenji López-Alt's 3-ingredient mac and cheese. It tastes fantastic. I wouldn't normally mention shipping issues in a product review, but these cans are shipped directly from the manufacturer, Jans Enterprises. As a few other reviewers have mentioned, several of the cans arrive severely dented. They look like they've each been thrown at a brick wall. This means my can opener can't always grip the edge, so I end up having to open the can by puncturing the top. The box they arrived in wasn't dented at all, so the cans were dented before shipping. So, most likely, Jans Enterprises is intentionally selling their dented cans here on Amazon because they wouldn't sell on a shelf. The price is pretty high for dented merchandise.

Milk I recommend for Arabs
Excellent milk for tea, Yemeni tea, and coffee. I recommend it to my Arab brothers who are accustomed to Arab and Saudi products. Wonderful milk.

Yes, this does replace Milnot. Yes, it does whip!
Oh, I debated for quite a while with this. Because there are still some remaining cans of Milnot on the market....But how old are they? And how much was I willing to pay for them? I hate feeling like someone had me over a barrel, so that feeling finally swayed me over to try this Sweet Cow. It's not sweet, as the name may imply. It tastes just like Milnot. It is a "filled" milk, which makes it almost exactly like Milnot. Yes, it does whip up! So, I am able to recreate Milnot's Lime Cheesecake. I always get the can of milk real cold before opening and whipping it. I can also make it whip up in my blender. I don't know if the whipping works like whipping real cream, but just in case: I make sure there is no oil or grease on my bowl or beaters or spatula. And I refrigerate all of it: The bowl and beaters, or the blender container, the spatula and the can of milk.

Contains harmful PUFAs (soybean oil)
Due to several months of increasing difficulty in obtaining Carnation Evaporated Milk, and unwilling to pay the scalpers’ prices on Amazon (between US$4 and US$12 per 12-ounce can), I decided to give Sweet Cow a try. I didn’t catch that the healthy butterfat of whole milk had been replaced by the UNhealthy fat of soybean oil, until I was opening the can to make cocoa. I went ahead with a taste test, and the best I can say is that it didn’t taste quite as bad as skim milk, evaporated or not. I never used, or even heard of Milnot, but I understand every family has family-traditional products, and it’s hard when they can no longer be found. However, my family tradition has been Carnation Evaporated Milk, and Sweet Cow doesn’t even come close to adequately substituting for it, especially in my morning cocoa. I also am working to remove soybean oil from as many parts of my diet as I can manage, due to the unhealthy polyunsatrated fatty acids it contains, which have an adverse effect on most human bodies and especially brains. (“Soybean oil linked to metabolic and neurological changes in mice. Summary: New research shows soybean oil not only leads to obesity and diabetes, but could also affect neurological conditions like autism, Alzheimer's disease, anxiety, and depression. America's most widely consumed oil causes genetic changes in the brain: Soybean oil linked to metabolic and neurological changes in mice” -- ScienceDaily, Jan 17, 2020) So, I won’t be buying this again, and what I have remaining will be going, unopened, to the landfill, as it is too harmful to donate for use by others. I also won’t be buying anything from Jans Enterprises Corporation again, if I can avoid doing so, because of the corporate decisions to remove the healthy but expensive butterfat of whole milk, and substitute the unhealthy but inexpensive oil of soybeans.
