Powerful easy slicing on half thawed food.
Ok so I've had this slicer for 2 days. Sliced smoked pork belly for bacon first then sliced smoked pork tenderloin next. Does an awesome job. Cleanup 10 minutes. Now to deal with the people who are saying manual sucks... it does but... if u can't put this thing together and operate it when delivered u don't need to be slicing food. Very simple. Slices like a dream. Easy clean up. A lifetime machine. Very quiet and powerful. A good buy. Also 2 things. People are saying hard cleanup. Very very self explanatory . 3 screws. U MAY HAVE TO USE IMPACT SCREWDRIVER TO REMOVE SCREW THE FIRST TIME. After that easy. Also people are saying the sharpener is backwards. It is designed that way. To sharpen blade take sharpener off turn around and reinstall. Then sharpen blade. Very simple and effective design. Update...... This is a belt driven slicer which means no gears to strip. Truly a awesome buy on a great slicer. Update #2....... have just noticed that the screws that hold blade on are 2 different sizes. Still not a deal breaker but definitely raises an eyebrow. Still worth the money at this point.

How to remove the cover plate to remove the blade
Our slicer arrived yesterday and we were slicing German meat today. This is one fantastic slicer for the price paid. $227.00. The biggest complaint that I have seen in the reviews is that it is hard to clean due to the cover plate and blade not coming off. The cover plate and blade do come off. HERES WHAT THE MANUAL DOES NOT COVER. In order to remove the cover plate you have to remove the long bolt (see photo) that has a medium black knob to unscrew it. Here’s the TRICKY PART. The first time doing this you have to use a flat head screw driver and PRY up a little between the plate and the blade. Be careful and don’t just try and do it all at once. You will need to go all around the plate to wiggle it loose. The reason the the plate won’t come off easy is because the manufacturer has put a little bit of glue on the nut holding it to the gear behind the plate once you break the glue seal and the cover plate is rocking back and forth when you press each side of the plate with your fingers replace the bolt back in halfway screwing it in then tap on the black knob to force the plate off(see photos) reassembly is extremely easy the next time you do this you won’t have to use a screwdriver. All you will need to do is tap the knob and the plate will come off. Just make sure you DONT SCREW THE BOLT IN ALL THE WAY before tapping hard. The other complaint that people had was the hex bolts to remove the blade when I took my plate off there were three Phillips head screws. Guess the manufacture was listening. This is a great slicer I have only used it for slicing hard Salami and baloney types of meat and it does a fantastic job on wafer thin slicing as well as thicker slices.

Excellent Slicer and I'm a Happy Camper!
Packaging was excellent for transport by UPS ground. Rugged and well engineered it protected the unit so that no damage was possible. Really good job. Unit arrived missing one M6x25 slotted countersunk head screw. Lowe's has it but missing this small part detracted from the buying experience. This is one of two screws & nuts that connects the protecting cover of the food carrier - basically a splash guard. The manual could use the work of an English speaking Technical writer. Clearly a Chinese product, the mechanical drawings are excellent as is the labeling of the components - however, the text of instructions, warnings and troubleshooting tables are difficult to comprehend unless you are very, very patient. Note that the instructions recommend loading meet for slicing at -5 C (23 F) for best results when slicing. While this is probably true for raw product it will not be true for prepared/bulk products. The idea here is that the colder the product, the more accurate the slice. Bulk meat stored in a crisper should be between 34 and 38 degrees F and should be fine. DO pay attention to the setup guide. This is where a native English speaker would have helped. There are few adjustments you can make - but each of them are critical to using the slicer safely and getting good results. Note that the blade sharpener assembly is installed backward ON PURPOSE. It is only put into operating position when you are sharpening a clean, properly adjusted blade. Commercial slicers are DANGEROUS - so unpack, setup and test carefully. Be especially careful when using this product for the second, third, etc time. You must always check the adjustments before use and always properly clean the slicer when complete. This works very nicely, I'm very happy with the purchase - AND I WAS NOT COMPENSATED or encouraged to say nice things. The moving parts require a small amount of food grade oil for easier operation. I used oilve oil sparingly and am very happy in operation

Great slicer!
Great slicer, works flawlessly! This slicer is very affordable for how it performs. There is a "price to pay" for being so affordable, and that is in the finishing of the parts. Some of the metal parts have very sharp edges so need to be handled carefully while cleaning, like the meat carrier for example. This is not a flaw or poor workmanship, it's just plain economics so if you pay more then these edges would be expected to be smoothed more. This is the only thing I can point out which is not positive. That said, everything else is perfect! Very quiet, smooth operation, no vibration, cuts roast beef as easily as in the deli. The blade is heavy, solid, balanced, and very sharp! I highly recommend this slicer! I can't think of how any of the more expensive slicers could possibly operate any better than this one. I'm very happy! Cleaning slicers is tedious. It's not difficult, just tedious. Some pro slicers are easier to clean, but it's not worth the extra $500 just for cleaning ease.

This is a VERY nice slicer. This is my 3rd
This is a VERY nice slicer . This is my 3rd . Two others were the under 100.00 kind , both broke and parts were no longer available for them , had to toss them . Wish I would have just bought the better one first ! This one is built to last , a little heavy but not to heavy , stays put on the counter while cutting and feels like it will last . The motor sounds great without straining . Cleaning is simple compared to others I've had , I read how to clean it from one of the reviews with photos due to the really hard to understand instructions . If the instructions were easier to understand I'm sure the ratings would increase , and there's several really helpful reviews to answer ANY questions about cutting and cleaning . I emailed the seller about getting parts if needed they were VERY helpful and pleasant to deal with and sent me the parts I was concerned about in less than a week !!!! A real pleasure to deal with , GREAT GREAT SERVICE . I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this slicer and especially the Company . UPDATE ; the slicer was getting noisy after 4 months so I called the Co. and was pleased again with there response , sent them a video of it running , a bearing is getting bad ( it happens to even the really expensive ones) NO issues backing there product at all !! Pleasant and fast , really couldnt ask for better service . Also as using it more often the cleaning is just getting easier and faster no problem at all . Super deal Co. is really good to deal with .

Great Features. Easy to clean, if you know how
This slicer is fantastic! I read several reviews about this slicer that said it was hard to clean. The main complaint was that the three screws that hold the blade cannot be removed because they are too tight from the factory. Mine was no different. With the blade in place, it is almost impossible to clean the area between the blade guard and the blade. I solved this problem by using my MANUAL impact driver. These can be had for as little as $9.00 if you shop around. Two taps with a hammer and my manual impact driver and all three screws came loose. Now, I can remove the blade for cleaning. I found that even after cleaning my slicer thoroughly (I thought), there were still meat scraps between the blade and the blade guard. Other than the original cleaning problem, this slicer works great. We saved approximately $70 the first time we used it. We bought a roasted boneless turkey breast and a boneless ham at our big-box club. We got them both for just over $3.00 per pound. We usually pay about $7.00 per pound at the local meat market for the same thing. We sliced them both and packaged them in one-pound packages with our vacuum sealer. Two more times like this and we will have paid for the slicer. You just can't go wrong.

poor design and low quality
After seeing so many great reviews I decided to go ahead and take a leap with this particular slicer. Just to get this out-of-the-way, I’ve owned two slicers and have worked in delis. This is going to sound harsh and I waited to write this review so that I could take out as much personal sentiment as possible. 1. The space provided for the placement of the meat measures at 6 1/2 inches, if you’ve operated a slicer before you know this means that you can only sliced meat that’s around 5.5 inch thickness. For large cuts such as tri-tip, brisket flat, bottom sirloin and top sirloin etc the slicer is useless. 2. The removal of the blade is not practical, which means cleaning it is a huge challenge. If I can’t effectively clean the slicer, you can give it to me for free and I still wouldn’t want that slicer. 3. Other slicers have clearance so that you can slide a plate under to catch the meat, this one has none. Where are the meet comes off, is in a very awkward place. 4. An extension from #3 above, The slicer is not properly angled. You will find that properly angled slicer the meat will fall off easily and safely, onto a plate. 5. This is probably minor compared to what I wrote on 1-4. This slicer is low in quality, and feels cheap. That said, I realize it was sold at $190 plus freight, you get what you pay for. Buying things based on Amazon rating, is beginning to disappoint me. I will be returning this unit and feel free to reach out to me if you want any more detail regarding my review.

Good for the price
The slicer works as expected. I use it to slice chicken jerky for my dogs and venison for me. It will easily go through a 80% frozen boneless chicken breast and yes, you will have a small chunk left at the end but even a Hobart at the deli can’t cut to the last of the meat. Cleanup takes a little time but like I said it ain’t a Hobart. Had to use a hand impact tool to loosen the blade screws but no big deal there. Take your time cleaning and it won’t frustrate you. The sharpener is a waste. I attempted to use it once and will never use it again. The stones are chipped, warped and about 10 times too heavy a grit. When I engaged it pieces of the stones came flying off and it nearly ruined the blade. It made heavy burs on the edge that all but ruined the cut. Fortunately I was able to hone the blade with a ceramic sharpener and restore the cutting edge. All in all a good slicer but throw the sharpener away or keep it just to act as a safety device for the top of the blade.
