My last TV ears eventually became too old as I had them for many years, and I needed a replacement. I did try other cheaper makes and I had problems setting them up. Interference from the router and other issues. In the end they were returned and I got the TV ears. You really do get what you pay for. Yes, there are cheaper products like these on the market, but they just are not as good, I've tried and found out the hard way! TV ears are very simple to set up. The sound quality is so clear and the headset is comfortable to wear. You can move about within the room with no drop in quality. I haven't tried the range in the rest of the house as I don't want to wake others. One comment is to check if the plug is for the UK. Mine came with an American two pin plug and no adaptor. Luckily I already had an adaptor, so this wasn't an issue for me.
