Groovy Yellow and Blue Motion Lamp

Great lava lamp but the bulb broke during shipping so I had to order some lava lamp bulbs at my own expense and now it works great.

I blame my brother for this fiasco I went through. So one day in December my brother announces to me, I want a lava lamp. I take note of it, I order it later in the month due to finances and the shipping estimate is like 10 days. I wait about a week and I emailed the seller as the shipping estimate just seemed extreme. They promptly informed me the standard shipping time is 10 days so I said okay, thanks. The thing finally ships later (I can't remember but I know it was a long time, I blocked it from my memory) and I wait about a month, early February, and I email them again saying uhh... where is my lava lamp? It's been a month and I haven't received it yet. They again briskly inform me that the package has been delivered to the reception building or something like that. I wait about a week, and ask my sister, do we have anything like that? And she says uhhh... no. So I looked up the tracking information and last known stop is to Mario in the building in California. Okay, but I live in TEXAS. I email the seller again, informing them I don't know Mario, I don't have a building, and I live in Texas so I have no clue why they think it was delivered to me. They email Mario and turns out it was broken when it arrived in California. It took until about May for me to FINALLY get the replacement and my brother gets it and sets it up and texts me... the lightbulb burned out. So he had to buy a new one and finally, the clouds part in the heavens and the angels sing... The product itself works and looks cool but seriously NEVER AGAIN would I order from these people. You pay $25 for the thing, (which that money obviously doesn't go to good quality bulbs since you have to pay extra for one that uh, works?) $10 for shipping and they take a month to get stuff to you? And they don't even use that $10 shipping money to make sure the product is shipped safely? If I hadn't emailed and complained the thing would still be in California with Mario. Which I understand stuff happens but whoever I was talking to was rude, not understanding at all, and they never said sorry you had such a horrible experience and that we're so slow and we didn't quality check our product. I have never had such a terrible experience trying to get something like that. I would have just bought something in person but literally no store had lava lamps for those couple months I was dealing with that. And now whenever I pass one in the stores I just feel anger.

Shipping package good and arrived ahead of schedule. It takes one or two days to settle down and work flawlessly. VERY COOL on initial start up - has kind of a Crab Nebula thing going. Reminds me of the Lava Lamps of my youth - except now I watch it during tedious conference calls at work. I recommend this product and vendor.

I purchased this for a co-worker for Christmas - he's talked about lava lamps for 4 years, so i figured I would get him one. Overall, this is a good quality product. The only negative I can say is I expected the clear blue water and yellow "lava" as shown in the picture - the actual look of the water is a little on the green side - and there may be too much "lava" in such a tight space (may be why it looks so green). It's a nice weight and seems very well made and I would recommend it to anyone with a lava lamp love like my friend.

This is a nice lamp. Downfall is the light bulb came broken. Kind of frustrating when you have to either go and by a new bulb or replace the whole item. Tried to contact the manufacturer to find out the type of light bulbs they are and if they could send me a replacement but haven't heard back yet. I would have bought this in a store over ordering it if I knew there was going to be a broken light bulb. So now it is going to sit in a box for a few days until I'm able to get a replacement bulb.

I was wanting a lava lamp, so went on amazon to see what was available. I was looking at the old school version and reading the reviews, noticing the stars were low and reviews weren't very good, when I noticed this lamp had high stars and good reviews, Groovy Yellow and Blue Motion Lamp so I went with it, and I'm here to tell you, I love this lamp. It's perfect. Doesn't take up too much room, easy to turn on, just the right amount of light, and soothing.

I was super excited to give this to my hubby for his birthday so imagine his disappointment, and my anger, when we opened the box and discovered that the light bulb had a broken filament and didn't work. Today I went to Lowe's and purchased a GE soft white spotlight 25 watt bulb. It fit the lamp perfectly and now that it has been plugged in for almost 3 hours it's working pretty good. I'm so excited to show my husband when he gets home from work!

Just like another review said, mine was also delivered with a shattered bulb. I went to 3 different stores to find a replacement bulb. (Since this was a gift for my 8 year old niece, I was desperate in saving this.) No luck. There was a similar 40 watt and a 25 watt, this calls for a 30 watt. The 40 watt I was afraid would get too hot. I tried the 25 watt, left it plugged in for 6 hours. Never got hot enough to fully melt the inside and bubble. I returned this.
