I barely tapped it on the side of my sink and it cracked. Was very happy to have found this replacement made of Borosilicate Glass. I own several pitchers made of the same glass from Amazon and they are very sturdy and they have had lots of use with even an accidental hit on my counter. This is the same type of glass used in medical and science labs for good reason. This glass is thicker so when you are inserting it into the metal frame it’s a little snug so you need to carefully move it up and down with a little pressure and it will go all the way down to the bottom of the frame. In my opinion, this is the type of glass needed for this French Press. Mine is the 34oz-Medium size/3.8 inches wide by 6.9 tall and the fit is perfect.
