Charbroil Universal Electronic Ignition Module - 2398782

Our 7 year-old Char-Broil Commercial grill from Lowe’s finally died. While I could light the burners using a match it was a hassle to lift off the cooking grate and then the IR grate. I priced a replacement grill and found them at $500+ so I decided to try and fix the old one. I first replaced the AA battery in the electronic ignition module, I then put a voltmeter on the ignition module and got no voltage. I still wasn’t 100% sure that was the problem, but at $20 it seemed like a better option than buying a new grill. I also ordered a new push button switch since I had things disassembled. The parts arrived in usual Amazon speed (btw, the Char-Broil website showed both parts on back order). The new module came with a jumper wire in case the grill didn’t have a remote switch (which mine did). I swapped out the wires one at a time to make sure the burners stayed in the same order, although in hindsight I don’t think it matters. I taped up the wires since they were hanging more than I liked. The module was easy to reinstall with a single nut. The start button was more challenging trying to thread the nut on from behind the panel’s tight space, but I got it on. In the moment of truth I heard the satisfying “snap snap” as the burners all lit off. Highly recommend this unit and start button for a total cost of $30.

My Charbroil infrared grill stopped lighting on its own one day. It would still light with a match or lighter, but it was pretty annoying. I figured this part had went bad so I went looking on Amazon and found this. I bought it, and when it arrived, I had it in the gril within 5 minutes. It was so easy to install and worked perfectly. It's just like the original part. I'm happy I was able to find it.

Easy to use

This universal ignition module was an exact fit for our grill. Easy to replace - good instructions - good price. Worked great after I installed the battery with the correct polarity! Our grill had a remote switch, so I used the straight cap. If you don't have a remote switch, this model comes with an extra switch jumper and another cap which actually contains the switch. Good quality and strong spark. Thanks. A+A+A+ in my book.

It wasn’t the same item as the one I thought I was ordering using the model number of the barbecue, but with a little metal bending and modification I made it work

Original ignition module went dead, replaced with new batteries and all, cleaned all connectors and terminals and all and still same issue. Ordered this and replaced it and ignition works fine now. Easy to replace. Two terminals are main, and rest are for your burner (does not matter which goes where). Worth it.
