The Lavazza Gold Espresso is a blend of both Aribica beans and Robusta beans. All depends on your taste. The Gold, having robusta beens is a little stronger, while the Oro more crisp. I have consistently used the Oro and enjoy it. **Q: best before date ?** A: My bag of Alteca Organic Premium Blend was roasted 18 months ago, and had a Best Buy date on the package indicating a measly 9 days left. **Q: Can you use this brand in drip coffee makers or is it a waste with out a true esspresso machine** A: Yes! Qualita Oro ground whole beans work well in my Mr. Coffee machine. I find it works better than the finely ground expresso in the can. I grind the beans to a medium ground and truly enjoy it in my automatic drip machine. This is my absolute favorite coffee in the entire world!
