Perfect Egusi. Time saver and taste great!!!
This packet has been a game changer. Saved me tons of catering cost during the holidays. I just added some garlic and extra bag of spinach. BE CAREFUL WITH EXTRA PEPPER PACKET. it looks like the dried shrimp seasoning so read the packets carefully before using them. In fact take the pepper packet out completely/separate it from other packets. Next time I might skip the extra pepper packet as it's extremely spicy. Also I was concerned the egusi would not be enough but it was the right amount. Just prep your proteins ahead of time. It make about a half pan of Egusi. Great price point. Family loved it. I can't wait to try the efo riro.

So delicious! We skipped the spicy seasoning and had it with fufu. It made enough servings for about 5 people.

Redemption
My first time trying egusi was from a restaurant- its was not tasty at all but I felt like this was not how it was supposed to taste. So I bought this kit to try to make it myself, so happy I did. I was doing a victory dance. This is the first and only African dish I have ever tried, 1st time was a bust, but this kit made me LOVE egusi. Easy to follow, I just used cut up chicken thighs as it’s my first time cooking- going to buy again and try with different proteins . The spice pack was perfect for me as I eat Thai chilies like candy anyways. Yummy.

Very good dish
It was good. If you are sensitive to hot spices use half the packet or less. The crayfish is very strong, so if you don’t assimilate it well one side of the dish may taste exceptionally fishy. I did not use Palm oil, and used peanut oil instead which was fine but it might taste more robust with the palm oil. Overall I definitely recommend it.

Carefully read directions!!
If you have never made this the directions are very misleading. It doesn’t explain you have to sautee the powder and onions But you do to get the flavors maybe my mistake not sure! But I read directions many times and I was adding protein. Mine came out way too thin bland and bitter
