I was giving it to him every day but sometime around December I ran out and I felt that he was doing so much better that I could just stop them. BIG MISTAKE. He started moaning in pain everyday and had a little less energy(took about a week of no pills for this to happen). I quickly realized this and reordered the pills. Well it took a total of 3 days but he is pain free again. I know that given his age he will have to drink these for life but I don't mind. I am just really happy these work for him. He is pain free and acting like a young pup again. I got these pills for my 14 year old shih tzu mix after a vet visit. They found that my dog has arthritis in his back, legs and paws. According to the vet it is not terrible but I had noticed that my dog had been complaining for quite some time. At first we all thought that when we picked him up we might be hurting him a little which is why he was moaning. However we realized that he would moan even when he was laying down. After the vet gave us the diagnosis it all made sense.. the moaning was from the pain he was feeling. He was prescribed Rimadyl but before I buy any prescription I always have to thoroughly research the good, the bad and weigh the options out. I found several articles talking about in very rare cases there were some side effects with Rimadyl. I honestly can't say if it's true or not, but that was enough for me to want to look for alternatives. Here is where this product comes in. I was skeptical and kept a log to track my dogs' progress. I received the item on Wednesday August 5th and the first day I didn't notice much; he was still moaning in pain. However, the next day he stopped moaning completely! I wanted to wait a couple more days before I could give an honest review on the product and today August 9 I can say he has not moaned in pain for 3 whole days! This might not seem like a lot but trust me when I tell you it is! He even has more energy (because he is not in constant pain) and he has a better appetite for it. I combine this with an All Natural Glucosamine supplement and they seem to be helping my dog!
