UPF 50+ Men’s Long Sleeve Fishing Shirt with Mask UV Neck Gaiter Hoodie

5 star sun hoodie with built in gaiter is almost perfect and loaded with features the others don't have, all for a value price. The features that really stand out are the mesh panels that run down the sides and under the arms allowing for venting of heat buildup, and the mesh panel on the gaiter allowing hot breath to escape. Other gaiters don't have a mesh panel so your hot breath builds up inside and is pushed upwards into glasses/sunglasses instead of outwards. The hood is nicely sized being neither too small so it won't push off your head or not cover your forehead, or too big obscuring vision. It's just sized correctly. It has thumb loops to keep the top of your hands covered with sleeves being a good length so they look normal when not using the loops. Let's talk about the material which is really comfortable, come in a large variety of colors, and is high quality. Yet, for my own personal preference could be improved compared to some other high dollar popular outdoor brand sun hoodies I own, but at the same time may still fit your own personal preferences perfectly. It's UPF 50+ that blocks 98%+ of the sun's UV rays which is attractive for many, but for me I like a little trade-off between UPF protection and material thickness which would allow more airflow in super hot temperatures. For example my Patagonia Capilene Daily Cool sun hoodie is around 35 UPF which still blocks 97% of UV rays and is noticeably lighter/thinner. 97% protection and being cooler vs 98%+ protection and being a little hotter means I'll happily trade off 1% protection to stay cooler on those sweltering hot days. Same with the Outdoor Research Echo hoodie at UPF 15 which still blocks 94% of UV rays, a 4% trade-off I'll still take any day. The other trade-off though is price with this Bassdash hoodie being a entire 50% cheaper than either of those two other options though personally I'd pay it in a hot second if Bassdash made this hoodie in one of those other thinner materials. Again, nothing wrong with this Bassdash material as it may be just what you are looking for if you want ultimate UPF protection and I still rate it at 5 stars. Finally sizing, it's modern American sized, slightly upsized which means the medium fits like a slightly smaller cut large. I typically wear a large size in most shirts and the medium fits me perfectly. Just something to be aware of. In my months and many many hours of reading/YouTube video reviews/forum posts nothing else comes close to the features found in this sun hoodie and overall I'm very happy with it.

I bought this shirt to wear on a week long boat trip. It was very comfortable, the inside stretch hood and face protection worked great to prevent sunburn on my face & neck & stayed in place. The thumb loops also worked well. It is lightweight & quick dry so I could wash it at night & it would be dry by the next morning to wear again. Great product, nice colors, true to size.

I wore these on a recent fishing trip. They were effective as sunscreen. I liked them and will wear them again. I rated only a 4 as the fabric is thin and not as durable as more expensive competitors' shirts. But a good shirt for the money.

I don't like the feeling of sticky sun screen so I like to wear long sleeve shirts instead. And what's great about this shirt is it has a hood to protect my head. The thin material makes it comfortable in the summer, as opposed to a thick cotton shirt. Very stretchy and soft, no resistance to any movement whatsoever. It does dry fast if you're in a dry climate, but it also gets wet fast if it starts raining. The face gaiter has a mesh fabric over the mouth and nose area, which makes it easy to breath, and may protect you from the sun, but it's not like a face mask where it protects agains airborne particles. The same mesh fabric is also on the sides under the arms that make it breathable. The face/neck gaiter is also not shaped in any way so it might feel a little tight around the face if you're wearing it long term. For me it smushes my nose so I don't really use it. I mainly use the hood to protect my ears and neck and wear a hat over it to protect my face from the sun. But the face gaiter is great to have for annoying mosquitoes. The fabric is pretty thin so this white color, especially when wet, will expose your body, in case any of you out there are particular about your image when the shirt is wet. Which brings me to a little hack in dry climates, and dry climates only, if it's hot outside, soak the entire shirt with water and wring out the excess then wear it. This process will keep you cool as the water evaporates, and just keep a spray bottle around and keep wetting the shirt to keep you cool. This shirt is the perfect material to do this. It's the same concept as an evaporative cooler so this only works in dry climates, in humid areas not so much. Although I don't use it often, I like the little strip of material that goes over your thumb so the sleeves don't ride up your arm. It's a nice option to have, but it also doesn't get in the way if you don't want to use it. Pretty easy to clean, I came across some engine grease and stained part of the sleeve, I just dabbed some laundry detergent on the greased area before putting it in the wash and it came right off. I chose white because it stays the coolest, as opposed to dark colors that absorb heat. Overall if I'm going to be out in the sun this is my go to shirt! Definitely recommend.

These Long sleeve shirts are amazing! I work under the sun for 8-10 hrs a day and they have saved me from burns! Before this i used to wear regular long sleeves but a hoodie and the neck/mouth is next level. Quality is really good and the price is fair. Super lightweight and comfy, I usually wear size M and this one run true to size for me. IF SOMEONE FROM THIS COMPANY IS READING THIS, PLEASE PLEASE, ADD A GLOVE PART TO THE END OF THE SLEEVE HEM AND THAT WOULD MAKE THIS PRODUCT EVEN GREATER!!!! I WOULD BUY IN A HEARBEAT!' dont hesitate to buy this! I 100% recommend it!!
