The start switch on the bottom of the clock has a left and right arrow, what is the function of this switch?

Hello, it starts the pendulum if it stops for some reason. Most likely to happen when you change the battery or move it.

This clock is supposed to play stairway to heaven, i can’t seem to get it to work. i just put in new batteries.

Is this enclosed by glass or is it open? Have cats & I don't want them playing w/ the movement. Thanks.

The front and rear of the clock's movements are totally enclosed in a clear shield on both sides. It is not glass , it is a clear plastic..
