it was a nice perspective and reminder that doctors are people too who have a lot to deal with daily on top of having to care for patients. Definitely will make me have a little more grace next time im in the hospital and feeling frustrated

Wonderful book, beautifully written
This is a fantastic book. A heartfelt and genuine account of the raw emotions of an ITU Doctor. Both touching and enlightening, it shows that the superhumans looking after people at their most vulnerable, are human underneath it all.

Seven Signs of Life - it did not capture me like I thought it might.
The narrative is split into various chapters that seemed a bit contrived, whilst I was interested enough to read the whole book I was left wanting. Some of the accounts were quite touching but it was not quite the warts & all account I was expecting. I suspect a follow up book after the writers retirement might be more candid. No doubt litigation is an obstacle to more revealing stories.

When is your next book coming, Aoife?
I have just finished reading this wonderful book. It is informative and illuminating but it is, most of all, an account of a doctor’s love and passion for her patients and their families. It has inspired me and I can’t wait to read more from Aoife Abbey.
