The toy is durable and well built. The 'owner' kid (5 yr old) loves it and runs the wheels off of it. So far, it's stood up ok. The linkage between remote and loco is kinda fiddly - but she figured out how to point the remote at the loco and is happily starting and stopping, and fiddling the light. Like any battery toy -- you have to put batteries in it. I'm going to try rechargables (nimh) to ease the burden on the ecology, but no experience yet.

Kids love the train. Ended up getting another brio set so both kids could play. Lots of fun.

Was a definite winner in our grandsons book! Great quality works perfectly on the track or off. Definitely recommend!

This thing is junk. The remote doesnt control the train continuously. It seems to disconnect after a few seconds and doesnt respond. Tried both channels, and the batteries are high quality brand new.

So cute! The little person doesn’t work well with the travel cart though, it’s arms stick out of the train and can catch on more narrow parts of the train tracks. It’s not as fast as other electric brio locomotives, but who cares, its fun and cute to watch. As mentioned above, this comes with an IR remote (infrared). So don’t expect to be controlling this from across the room.

works as advertised. You need to keep it close to the train which is a learning experience for the child. our 4 year old grandson has had no problems figuring this out. He loves it. The train noises are realistic and he uses them all of the time. On flat track it easily pulls 6 or 7 cars. On a track with a bridge, the train needs a very light 3rd car and then had no problems pulling 5 or 6 cars.

The controller doesn't work well. The train keeps on not responding, and we need to fiddle with the control (i.e. moving the laver back and forth between the different positions) to get it too work. And it isn't just that we got a defaced product. I bought 2 (one for each of my sons), and they both had the same issue. On the other hand, I like that the controller has 2 channels, which lets my kids drive both at the same time. Another thing that annoys me is a feature that the engine turns off after about half a minute of inactivity. Overall this is a positive feature, but half a minute isn't long enough! After every stop at a station we need to walk over to the train and press a button to wake it up. If I'd want to walk over to the train any time I wanted to start it, I have bought the cheeper one without the controller! Also, the engine isn't very powerful, and gets stuck climbing up hills when it's carrying more than 3 cars.

This train works and holds up to some banging around. My 3 year old was very happy to receive this gift. Drawback is that the remote is finicky. It will lose connection with the train and you have to try to remember which buttons to turn the train off then back on to get it to work again. Not sure if I do it incorrectly sometimes or if it just doesn't work sometimes, there are only 3 buttons. Always make sure the train and remote are set to the same channel. Either way it is somewhat annoying. My son is usually quite happy to just push the buttons on the train to make it go forward, backward, or stop when the remote is giving us trouble, so it's still usable.

At first it worked perfectly but after some normal usage it now will only go backwards. Very sad because we expected this to last at least a few years, not weeks.

El juguete funciona perfecto, mi hijo quedó encantado, sobre algunos comentarios de que tenias que estar muy cerca, (la verdad lo compré con ese temor), pero no, al ser infrarrojo obviamente tienes que estar cerca pero al menos a un rango de 1.5 M funciona sin problema, también depende de la carga de las baterías. Muy recomendable

Offert à mon fils pour son Noël, le train fonctionne vraiment bien, et le télécommande répond parfaitement, adaptable sur les circuits des autres marques que celle de brio, et comporte 2 canal pour faire fonctionner 2 loco indépendamment, traction correct le télécommande se met parfois en veille, il suffit alors de ré-appuyer sur les boutons de la locomotive et c'est reparti

If you want to lose you kid for a week or two you need to buy this train. Works good, keeps batteries alive for several months even playing every day. I really recommend this train for 3-4 y.o. kids
