Though the description says English the language is Italian
No English option nor English subtitles. I understood the simple plot anyway since I bought it for the over the top gore.

An ultra-violent Italian action-horror in the insane spirit of Riki-Oh!
This wacky movie features exciting visuals sure to please the gorehounds out there, but I just don’t feel the slog between the action is worth it for some of you unless you’re thrilled by exploitative lunacy. This is LOADED with ridonkulous, extreme gory action. After the torture and murder of his wife at the hands of a mutant Italian crime boss, Adam (Emanuele De Santi) sets out for revenge with something of a bath salt fever dream demon Muppet on his back whispering evils into his ear. Having made a deal with the forces of evil, Adam is nearly invincible and of Godly strength.Think of some extremely violent, very bloody, high action R-rated Anime… and then make it live action. You’d probably think of Tokyo Gore Police (2008) or Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl (2009) or any of many Tokyo Shock productions. Now make it with an Italian guy (Director and writer Emanuele De Santi; Judy)… and you have Adam Chaplin. This is a film that truly celebrates its gore in the spirit of Riki-Oh (1991). The imagery is absolutely grisly as faces collapse into punched-in skulls. I could just as readily describe this movie as the intersection of the utter madness of The Toxic Avenger (1984) and the dire vengeance The Crow (1994). Limbs are ripped off and blood geysers from their sockets, lower jaws are torn from skulls, heads are impaled with cleavers, a victim is split in two down the middle, and another gets “shafted” up his, well, rear shaft. Not just in its violence, but this is even cruel on a casual level. A mutilated giant of man lectures a bound woman of her offenses before lighting her on fire, quite graphically I might add. Great care is given to showcasing her charred remains. The film’s great downfall is that it takes itself and its script waaay too seriously. When it basks in its own violent absurdity, it thrives. When it focuses its lens on the investigation and motives of Adam, I flounder in insufferable boredom. And the boredom is not brief, but in long bounds. So despite some exciting visuals sure to please the gorehounds out there, I just don’t feel this slog is worth it for some of you of aren’t thrilled by exploitative lunacy. Sure, the finale is LOADED with ridonkulous gory action. And I get a good guilty snicker out of it here and there as this guy’s head is fractioned by a punch, another is shot in half, and another suffers horrendous limb breaks or severances. Like so many other scenes in this movie, the final fight is absolutely an anime boss fight.I think if this movie is for you, you ought to know it. Extreme gore is this film’s game.

Adam Crap-lin more like it!
This movie was horrible. I think a 10 year old boy either wrote it or advised on it.Spoiler AlertHere is the plot (with not much backstory). The star's wife(?) owed money to some religious weirdo, who looked like Troma's Toxic Avenger wearing a black hockey mask. So he and his goons decide to burn her alive. Her...husband (I think) finds her still alive, only she dies later in the hospital. Apparently the star, who looks like a young Triple H from WWE, has made a deal with a demon, who lives on his right shoulder (still with me?) to give him superhuman powers in the attempt to get revenge on his wife's killers. A cross was burned onto his shoulder when he saw his burnt up wife and now a demon pops out of it. The demon looks like Mike Myers dressed as the Cat in the Hat.We know Adam has been possessed because his eyes turn white and then when the demon pops out, he spazzes out with a blank stare, kind of looking now like a steroided Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High (Sean Penn). He then proceeds to pummel anyone in his way until he is able to exact his full revenge. He superman punches people faces off, arms off, then Street Fighter attacks anyone is his way. The effects are also like from a Troma movie. Meanwhile, when he punches a guy to a pulp, the person is still alive long enough for one last super demon punch.Meanwhile everyone in the movie has some sort of deformity, like they all went to Nuke'em High (also Troma). This is never explained either. This movie could have been better with more of a back story, better effects and maybe better actors. Look at the name of the star and the credits and you will get the picture. Also, his brother, I'm guessing is in it, plus other people that are apparently in other movies with the star, probably his friends.Don't believe the other reviews that say this was a good movie. It is Adam Crap-lin!

WARNING - English subtitles do not work on DVD or Blu-ray players...only on computers.
As a huge fan of this film, I was excited to see the extended edition was given a U.S. release--until I received the DVD. Be warned, this release from BayView does not give you an option to turn on English subtitles in the menu. Not to mention, the movie automatically begins when you insert the disc, so you have to hit the menu button on your player's remote control to get to it, and all it offers is some trailers for other films and the play option for the film. The problem is, unless you watch this disc on a computer, the English subtitle will not display at ALL. I tried this disc on a DVD player, a Blu-ray player, and a Playstation 3, and the English subtitle don't show at all. Finally, when i tried the movie in my computer, the subtitles appeared. I even tried changing closed caption options in my other players to see if I could get subtitles, and nothing. Talk about a defective product. And don't even bother trying to order the edition available directly from the movie studio Necrostorm. Not only is the disc a DVD-R and not a pressed disc, but while it's listed as an all-region disc on their site, it will not play on U.S. Blu-ray players or DVD players. Once again,it will only work on computers.Bottom line is, unless you have a computer connected to your TV, you can't watch any release of the extended edition of Adam Chaplin on a large TV in the U.S.

Do you love violence? Well you came to the right place.
This Italian movie is hyper violent in a way I am sure your religious aunt would call satanic. I'm serious this movie puts Evil Deads 2 love of blood to shame. Its like a Fist of the North Star movie without any of the characters or plot from that anime. This movie is basically if The Crow was made by Robert Rodriquez after he read a lot of hyper violence anime.

Love this film
I remember seeing this on TV years ago but they never shown it again so when I seen it I had to buy it. I don't know if its been censored but there's still enough gore to satisfy everyone.

My God, what did I just watch?
Like the other reviews have said, there's a big nod to The Story of Riki and The Fist of the North Star but Adam Chaplin is very much its own film. I'm not a massive splat gore fan so it can be a bit of an assault on the senses for people who aren't prepared. That being said, I thought this was great entertainment in an over the top surreal sadistic sort of way! Watch it with your friends then get stuck into a mixed grill with extra tomato ketchup on it!

Not as advertised
The film is fine, and the visual are excellent... But the sound is only in Italian, and the subtitles only in French... So not as advertised. Sadly won't buy from VENDEUR again
