Save your money unless you have money to throw away. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ THESE WORK AWESOME!!! DON'T BUY THE PLASTIC ONES, THESE ARE THE WAY TO GO!!! *by M***R on April 27, 2016* This is so much better than the piece of junk plastic one I bought last week!!! I seen these for the first time last week, only it was a pink plastic version and I thought wow what a great idea I must have this with my 4 watermelon eating machines I made!! And then I got it, and I tried it on a watermelon and it just created the biggest watermelon mess I've ever created trying to cut up a watermelon in my life and that was the first and last time I used that junk. While it was a great idea, it was not equipped to handle slicing thru a watermelon, and thought, now if they made this in steel, that would be the way to go. And then someone did, Metanoia Global Products, to be exact! This Kitfchen Samurai watermelon knife tongs works AWESOME!!!! As you can see from my pictures, even on the smaller watermelon, which are all that's available given the current season, they work great. It took about 2 slices in to get the hang of it. You start at the one end slice down, and pull the tongs down and toward you, making sure you graze the bottom of the watermelon with the top of the tongs, that way it slices the watemelon flesh clear off of the rind. Once you've done a couple of slices it becomes really easy and by the second half I had really nice clear cut slices and from now on it won't take me longer than a few minutes to have a watermelon all sliced up! I have 4 kids, all boys, and they all love watermelon, so we go thru a whole watermelon in one day during the summer, instead of me spending upwards of a half an hour cutting one up, I can use this and be back outside in less time than it takes to do a bathroom run! I am extremely happy with this product and honestly after using it recommend it anyone who likes to eat watermelon but hates the process of cutting it up. Once you use this, you will never go back to whatever way you use to go about cutting one up! I've attached my awesome pictures, I took a lot, because I was so excited at how well it worked and I kept getting better and better at using the tongs with each piece I cut. You can clearly tell by my end picture which half I started with and which half I ended with because there is far less flesh in the second half because I had become a pro by the second half! I have never actually seen anything like this on a commercial or a store shelf. The unusual look and idea of it really interested me. So, i decided I had to try it out and see if it actually works as advertised and i was really surprised how great it did.So, the idea is simple; a knife and tongs in one handle. This is one of those products that just makes sense and makes you wonder why this hasn't been around sooner.In the box all you get is the watermelon knife tongs. Everything else that you need to know can be found on the outside. This product has passed FDA and LFGB safety regulations and is entirely made out of 430 stainless steel. It is dishwasher safe and can be used be used on any type of melon you desire. So, using this on a cantaloupe or honeydew will be fine.Learning how to properly use this is very easy. As i said, the instructions can be found in a 4 step process on the back of the box, but I will quickly go through them with you.1. Prepare the watermelon or melon by cutting it in half.2. While holding the knife tongs, point the tip toward the melon. The arch of the blade should be on top.3. Dig the point into the melon and continue to run it along the inside the rind.4. After making a clean cut from one half to the other, turn it around and place the blades back into the cuts.5. Squeeze the handle and pick up the freshly cut melon piece.This is defiantly something you need to pick up if you're just a little interested. After trying it you'll never go back to using a knife and making a mess. Although, I would like to see these type of products get a some nicer materials.
