While the LS5P1 is designed for hook knives and gouges, it may not be efficient for straight blades due to its specialized curvature. For knives and straight-blade tools, we recommend the LS6P1 Strop model, which is better suited for those purposes.

Use the sandpaper side for sharpening and the leather side with the provided compound for honing and polishing. The strop's design accommodates both outer and inner bevel sharpening, ensuring the maintenance of a sharp edge on your tools.

How many times can I use the compound?

Exactly the right tool to sharpen hook knives.

I was so pleased with this product, it made sharpening the hook knives I have a breeze. Really easy instructions sent to my in box in video form. I was able to get all 3 of my hook knives razor sharp with little to no effort. This is a fantastic item and a must for owners of Beaver Craft hook knives. Again I have several items from Beaver Craft and I am happy with them all. The price point is way lower than some but the quality is very high. Really happy with my purchase!
